Any truth to the story going around that Warner Brothers is currently tossing out posters, press material, etc. that might go back as far as the 1950's?
I have seen a couple mentions but can't find the whole story.
I'll take a "Them!", or "Beast From 20K Fathoms" one sheet! ;D
I thought all the posters belonged to National Screen Services. Wasn't there something printed on them saying after the movie's showing was over the posters were to be returned to them? So how would Warner Brothers, or any movie studio, have them in their studio archives?
Looks like the rumor may have started here:

I'm not on facebook. Can anybody confirm or deny this?

The studios took over poster distribution around 1990, when they reduced posters to just the one-sheets. NSS was bought out by Technicolor in 2000. Don't know what they did with the posters.
That's a tragedy to dump them! :(

The poster in the picture must be pre-1990 then. Looks like they are all Lobby Cards.
Maybe they could donate them to nursing homes - Nostalgia for the elderly.
