Title: Velma
Post by: judd on January 18, 2023, 08:44:37 PM
Don't watch this.  It's horrible.  It's not even a fascinating failure.  It's just a total misfire.  The characters are nothing like the originals.  It's full of quicky and self aware humor.  As I thought about it the jokes are rather sexist and objectifying.  A big pass.

As in "Scooby Doo"?

It is as far away from real Scooby Doo as it could be.

It's kind of a remake of Scooby Doo without Scooby Doo.  Fred, Velma, Daphne and shaggy are characters in the series but they don't behave anything like them.

The characters of Velma, Fred and Daphne pretty much play up or over exaggerate their previous cartoon incarnations; Shaggy is the only that feels nothing at all like Shaggy of old. I only watched the first episode and really don't feel the need to continue with any more.

I'm enjoying the online reviews. My favorite comment came from "Critical Drinker", who says the first two episodes were so bad, he refuses to do any more reviews on future episodes. He said there are better things you can do with your time, such as watching paint dry.

Warner Bros prove what everyone knew frm the horrible 2002 live action film.

They have no damn idea what to do with Scooby-Doo at all.

Zombie Island still stands as the best of Doo.

I agree, although I found " The Witch's ghost" a lot of fun. "13 Ghosts of Scooby Doo", with Vincent Price, is another favorite.

Evil cannot create anything new, they can only corrupt and ruin what good forces have invented or made.

It's terrible.  Kind of like, if you love Scooby-Doo, you'll hate this, and if you hate Scooby-Doo, you'll hate this, too.

This is just a flat out awful series. There's no reason anybody should like it.
