Fingers crossed for a Vinney. I think these folks could make Rainman's Psycho set look quaint in comparison. No one seems to care about Psycho merchandising though.

If these Kaustic Plastik figures are ACTION! figures, do they feature Kung Fu Grip or something equally impressive?

Oh man, those are fantastic. I have no budget for them, but I'd love to own them for sure. The final word on figures of the two, it would seem.

They aren't within my budgetary constraints either. I'm getting them though. Time to work a little extra.

Well so much for being anything more than a niche product for aging Hammer Horror enthusiasts.

The Sideshow releases are 1/4 scale, and have no movement and only one headsculpt. More like statues. The KP are 1/6 with three head sculpts each if you buy the exclusives.

If there are no joints, how do they dress them?

I don't work for Sideshow or Kaustic.  I have come to the UMA for years to share every tidbit of information I get about new monster products.

If you want answers about the production process, wholesalers or marketing, you'll need to ask their customer service reps.

I'm all about vintage pre-1970 items. Moreover I've never been a fan of figures/dolls, even vintage ones such as G.I. Joe, Captain Action, the AHI monsters or the Megos. ( I could however be tempted by the Ideal Super Queens. ;))

That being said, I'm a huge fan of Hammer Horror and the roles both Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing played in the Hammer flicks. And these Kaustic Plastic and the Sideshow figures of Dracula and Van Helsing look so well done that they tempt even me!

:)

These are great, but I can't justify these after the Sideshow statues. I'm more or less over sixth scale figures anyway. I have the silver screen Sideshow set and a few others, but that's it. The price point has gotten too rich my for blood.

Kaustic Plastik is the eater of wallets and souls. Looks liek they will be showing a full reveal of Chaney Phantom in March. Their Lugosi and Nosferatu are splendid. Still waiting on Horror of Dracula to ship though.

I believe the updated In Stock shipping date for Hammer Dracula/Van Helsing is set for late March 2024. Hopefully it won't be postponed again. Really looking forward to these awesome pieces!

The KPs are smidge cheaper, but that's because they're smaller. All of this stuff is getting sky high though with SRP though. I think a lot of folks are getting priced out. Payment plans exist. Payment plans are for car notes and mortgages in my opinion. Not dollies, lol.

Well, with everything being sky high these days; and with no relief in sight; I cancelled my order for these. They are amazing, and I love them, but I just can't justify the price.

I hear ya, brother! I've had to pass on a few things, especially ones that come with 2-4 different paint jobs.

The never ending saga of trying to swing a set of these without paying full price has continued. I think I may have done it. If so, I will have a set by Thursday this week. Trading things in the "barter box" of your collection sometimes works wonders.

I find it easier/quicker to just sell those things on eBay and buy the stuff I want with the money.

That used to be a viable option...... until nowadays, you're expected to conduct your hobby as a business.

Ebay is a business. A dude selling off a figure he bought, to buy another figure he wants, on their platform isn't. It's better to trade. At least for me. If I wanted to be a small business, I would open a shop.

Yes, but to whom? Odds are slim that I know somebody that wants the thing I have to trade and even less that they have something I want.

Because you have to consider eBay like a business, treat it as such; so if you sell X figure for $$ and have to claim it, claim the purchase of Y figure as inventory on a Schedule C.   They want us to treat it like business income, take it all the way.   Just because you aren't going to sell Y anytime soon doesn't mean you won't someday.

Got my exclusive set from Infinite Statue yesterday, it's a really nice box. Number 48 of 250. Shipped from Italy September 27th, arrived at my house in Michigan by the 30th, they weren't playing around with the shipping. I even have the Lugosi Dracula exclusive from them as well with the graveyard diorama, none on display or anything yet. Looking to get a display shelf, but a part of me almost doesn't wanna open the boxes. With how much they cost though, almost feels like they NEED to be displayed

I bought the white coffin. I need Dracula now...lol
Title: Re: KAUSTIC PLASTIC HAMMER HORROR
Post by: Anton Phibes on October 07, 2024, 03:20:54 PM
It's funny. The gigantic white luxury box with the coffin in it is limited (and numbered) to 280. The individual exclusives (figures packaged individually with the same exact items inside, all 3 heads, same glorioud black and white illustration on box face) are limited to 80 numbered editions, and the coffin gets an individual nice box of its own.

I originally had the big box with all of it ordered....then cancelled. I managed to get the individually packaged ones....and I think I prefer them, primarily for storage reasons, but also because the limited to 80 (oh, and you get a couple free tee shirts of Horror of Dracula) seems kind of cool too, lol.

That being said, the art card included in the box states...all versions combined (standard~with only one head portrait, deluxe~ with 2 head portraits, and the exclusives with three head portraits) total altogether at 800 pieces. With 360 of them being exclusives (280 double pack with coffin, 80 of individual packs). So there are only 360 people who can get the top tier version.

There's not a lot of them out there, especially if you are after an exclusive.

So I finally got a 6' display case and am ready to get these 2 and the Lugosi Dracula on display but I wanna add some depth to the figures. Are there any decent backdrops or dioramas anybody recommends that would go well with these?

Try ebay or etsy. They make them to fit Detolfs for certain. I seen it with me own eyes.
