Title: Don Post Carlisle White Non-Glow Version?
Post by: Spinal Remains on November 16, 2022, 09:11:52 PM
So my question is did Don Post ever make a white non-Glow In The Dark Carlisle? Mine doesn't glow at all, not even under a Fluorescent / black light, it also has a little pinkish paint under the eyes :

maybe the glow paint just wore off over the years? idk

No.

Green with white hair.

Rainbow

Glow.

In that order.

Yours looks to be either a really faded rainbow or a glow  with touched up paint.   The glow powder is in the paint itself on glow masks.    Some glow Carlisles had red highlights.

I think glow stuff stops working after a few decades. My APC Creature poster just barely glows. Like 5%.

The glow poiwder DP used was very strong.   Ive not seen any that have worn out completely.

Glow In The Dark Carlisle? Mine doesn't glow

Whether glowing or not, it's a creepy cool character. How long have you had yours?

ok thanks for the info, im gonna assume it glowed at some point & it just wore off. the paint seems old & original to me, but the other glow ones iv seen are more gray than like a bright white like mine :

and iv seen some weird colored ones before like these :

(Crimson Ghost masks)

so i thought maybe at some point they did just a white version, but i guess not.

If it was glow that wore off there sould still be some reaction to a blacklight.    Even the roughest of rough glows still have some juice left.     Based on the red highlights,  Id say its a faded rainbow.    It looks blue to me.

To get the bright colors for the Rainbow Carlisle, white was sometimes applied as a base paint before the yellow, red and blue.  Your mask looks like it was perhaps started, but not completely painted.  Or the colors rubbed off down to the white base coat.  Kind of strange, but that's my best guess.  Still a fun mask!

I have never seen this mask before. Am I the only person seeing a resemblance to Iggy Pop?

Whatever was used in Hasbro's Kooky Spookys is still going strong, since 1969!

That's all that really matters IMO.
