The Remco Mummy and Ideal Mummy. Why were both Mummy figures produced in two different boxes? The Frankenstein Monster, also produced by Remco/Ideal.

A think I'm right in saying that the ideal one is the UK edition so it was down to who had the distribution deal in various territories (like with vintage star wars where it was Kenner in the US and Palitoy in the UK).
Ian
Ian is essentially correct, Remco licensed the line to Ideal UK for UK distribution and sales. Only the inch dolls of Count Dracula, Frankenstein's Monster, the Mummy, and the Wolf Man were released (hence the lack of Moisturizer on the box backs).
A hardcore monster enthusiast would now want one in each of the two different boxes of course!
;)
Thank you, Palifan and Darkmonkeygod for the information. I will be on the look for Dracula and the Wolfman.
Yes, Hepcat. I fortunately have both boxed versions. It took years to score the Ideal Mummy and Frankenstein's monster.
Palifan. I noticed years ago Palitoys released a Star Wars Deathstar that is completely different from the US version. That UK Deathstar is extremely difficult to locate, complete, undamaged and at a reasonable price.

Thanks for that and I had the Palitoy cardboard D'S growing up and have a boxed one now. It's complete with all the original clear figure stands and paperwork and I'm just glad I picked it up years ago as I wouldn't be able to get one now at their going rate. I only have a demo Frankenstein box though (and a spare one for some reason), so you're doing well with your ideal collection.

Awesome. That Palitoy Death Star looks so fantastic.
