I was sadden to find out yesterday that Jay Black (David Blatt) had died. I was surprised to learn that in 1966 that he had sung a song about the holocaust called "Where is My Village" .. When asked in an interview if he could've only sung one song . he picked "Where is my Village".

John "Jay" Traynor was the first "Jay" of Jay and the Americans with whom the group had its first hit She Cried in early 1962:
