Phil Spector, producer known for his "wall of sound" technique has died at the age of 81.
I prefer a funkier sound with a more pronounced beat for rock music so I'm not a fan of the background string orchestration/wall-of-sound approach for rock music in general. There's no denying however that Phil Spector produced some fabulous music. Here are some tracks that I find particularly noteworthy:
To Know Him Is to Love Him - Teddy Bears (https://youtu.be/tIUf6dOGc1c)
I Love How You Love Me - Paris Sisters (https://youtu.be/lwGSKea-lGw)
Uptown - Crystals (https://youtu.be/G0il2Qd3jcs)
Be My Baby - Ronettes (https://youtu.be/jSPpbOGnFgk)
You've Lost That Loving Feeling - Righteous Brothers (https://youtu.be/uOnYY9Mw2Fg)
My Sweet Lord - George Harrison (https://youtu.be/8qJTJNfzvr8)
Imagine - Plastic Ono Band (https://youtu.be/rAn-AWXtHv0)
