I thought it was worth mentioning this amazing looking 1st issue that's up on Indiegogo right now from pilaidstallions Brian Heiler. Brian is a major player in the world of Mego and KO vintage toys and published an amazing book a few years ago about cheap Rack Toys that was filled with really fantastic items. This first issue looks to have a really comprehensive guide to the AHI monsters as well as some other really interesting looking articles so if you're interested in something like this then check out the link and maybe get involved ( I most certainly have!).

It looks like it's pretty much already funded after only being live for a few hours so this will definitely happen and I can't wait to have a read of it.

Awesome
Just donated. Looks like a super cool magazine.
This campaign is doing really well so far and it couldn't happen to a nicer guy as Brian, who has put this together, does so much for these types of vintage toys and always puts great vids out each week on youtube.
Should be a fun read ;D

Just sent him an e-mail inviting him to the site.
Hi! Thanks for the invitation and the kind words, really appreciate it.
I'd have jumped on sooner but this publication is currently eating all my free time.
That being said I do have a couple of gaps in the AHI monsters section of the publication and well, this seems like the place.
if you collect carded AHI monsters and can take a photo please, please drop me a line. I'll post my "wish list" of items I'm looking for shortly.
Cheers!
Brian
Welcome to the UMA, Brian! :)
Check out the photo albums. Maybe you'll find what you're looking for?

Brian. Welcome to the UMA. Your YouTube channel is great.
Welcome to the UMA family Brian!
Hey, thanks for the kind welcomes, most appreciated.
I love the suggestion of the picture section here but they're a bit too low resolution for publication. I hope tomorrow to print a list of "gaps" in the article, for now I'm working on photographing a Mr. Spock Bop Bag.
Hey Everybody, if you collect AHI Super Monsters and have any of the following and would be willing to send me a photograph, I'd really appreciate it:
Carded WFSM Assortment 6126 with White Official in the header.
Mummy
Wolfman
Kresge Carded WFSM
Wolfman
Creature
Frankenstein
Loose Painted Hands figures:
Wolfman
Mummy
Thank you for looking!

Any update when the magazine will be released?
Cannot wait till see this.
Hey,
Toy-Ventures should be going to the printers, hopefully by the end of the week. I'm waiting for more photos, stuff I just think makes the magazine better. I also decided to add some additional content.
Otherwise, we're in the final editing phase, I've got two professionals looking at it, one at my prose and the other is tweaking some of my designs. I couldn't afford either of these guys in real life so I'm super grateful to have them doing this.
Hopefully I'll be stuffing envelopes soon.
Now I'm confused. How are you involved with Toy-Ventures?
???
Oh wow, I used an old computer and I totally forgot about that account. For a long time I lurked here due to another individual being a member here who had sent me threats and other fun stuff. I didn't even know the PW anymore, guess that computer still had it.
Just completed an interview about the magazine:

Don't worry. You'll get used to the threats. I simply regard them as a validation of my presence on this board.
:)
Sorry, the last few weeks have been full of challenges to put it mildly, Toy-Ventures issue 1 is now shipping and it can be ordered here:
http://www.megomuseum.com/odeon/store/products/ (http://www.megomuseum.com/odeon/store/products/)
The issue is mainly a love letter to AHI and I'd guess about 60 percent of this one is Monster based, so you may enjoy it. Thanks for looking.
Just got my issue today and it is absolutely fantastic! I love all the photos and information...definitely a valuable resource and fun publication...one that I look forward to seeing many more issues of!
Great magazine

Great magazine
I agree Mars. My issue arrived a few days ago. A bit pricey, but it's an impressive publication. Great images, printed on good quality paper. I def recommend. I'll post pics soon. I ordered the Mego Museum magazine too. Both issues are super fun.
Thanks everyone for the kind words and support, as for the comments on price, yeah I'd love to get the volume up on subsequent issues so I can charge a little less for sure. As it stands right now, we're pretty "boutique" and pretty much on par with what I'm paying for an issue of "Infinity" (which is brilliant) at the newsagent.
I'm happy to report sales are amazing and issue 2 is in the works, with long piece devoted to "Monster Squad" and "Godzilla's Gang" toys.
Thank you and great magazine. Love the channel, too.

I'm sure most of us understand the price issue. I'm willing to pay more, if needed, for a quality product, which you offer. Issue #2 is definitely on my list to grab. I hope this venture keeps going and continues to do well.
Thanks so much for the kind words and support, things are going very well.
Issue 2 just came out and it's main piece is about the 70s Saturday Morning series "Monster Squad" and it's got some great surprises.

Just wanted to mention that issue 3 will have a section on the Lincoln International Monsters and Issue 4 is slated to have some never before seen Munsters items. I'm a monster kid at heart so there will be green skin in every issue somewhere.

Contents include:
The Munster Mash– We're visiting 1313 Mocking Bird Lane when Corey LeChat gives us a tour of one of the greatest collections of Munster merchandise ever assembled. Many of these items have never been featured in print before and this issue is a tribute to the late Tony Greco, a legend amongst Munster collectors.
Apemen down under– William Wilson has written a wonderful piece about this Australian line of Planet of the Apes knock off figures called "The Action Apemen"
The Expandable ones- David Lockwood explores the stretchable superheroes and villains made by Funstuff in the early 1980s.
He's Glump! He's Glump!- We talk about the weird world of dime-store action heroes created by Durham from Yung Kung Fu to Glump the Caveman, it's a comprehensive guide.
Super Amicis– A fun pictorial guide to this cheeky line of figures based on the Mego World's Greatest Superheroes.
The Toy-Ventures Guide to the Mego Mad Monsters– This issue we take an exhaustive look at this wonderful glow-in-the-dark figure line by Mego with input and anecdotes by Mego's own Marty Abrams.
We're giving away a free Mego Mad Monsters Mini Pennant with this one but supplies are super limited.
Thank you everyone for the fantastic growing support of Toy-Ventures, we really appreciate it when you spread the word as a small start-up, our best friend is word of mouth.

Great magazine
Thanks so much for the kindness. Issue 5 is out and has two wonderful articles that Monster kids will love. One is all about the Thriller Graveyard Gang figures and the other is a tribute to Baby Frankenstein. It's absolutely awesome, I can say that because I didn't write it or lay it out.

Cool.
Corey LeChat has promised to send me a copy of the Baby Frankenstein issue, #5, when it comes out. He had contacted me for permission to use some of my pictures.
I can't wait 'til I get my hands on one.
Hey fellas.
Issue 8 is coming this October and I'm excited to announce that issue 8 will launch soon.
It's October, and Toy-Ventures magazine is always a friend of horror-related toys; nothing is more fitting than this beautiful article.
Issue 8 will see a newcomer to the magazine in the form of Heath Smith who brings us into the world of the Telco Halloween Motionette. These wonderful horror-themed animatronics were something I was largely unaware of. Still, after working on this article, it's easy to see their appeal and why they are so highly coveted. Toy-Ventures is not responsible for any eBay purchases made after reading this article.
