Quoting a post from member Spock. Sad news. A beloved member! We wish him well!

I am posting this here as it was one of Dan's main forums in the past. Most of you knew him as Count Zirock if memory serves. I've just heard today that Dan is seriously unwell and in hospice care. Without going into detail last news was not very good. Dan is a regular contributor for Videoscope Magazine. He was always a constant supporter both here and social media for Distinctive Dummies. I for one am deeply saddened by this news. Mods, I am guessing this is in the wrong place so feel free to move. I know he had a lot of contacts here at one point.
Really sorry to hear this. Remember him from the Glory Days!

Remember him from the Glory Days!
And from just a few weeks ago!
Uh, oh! I'm concerned.
Sad news. The Count's posts were always knowledgeable and entertaining. I wish him well.

"Hospice" is not a word you want to hear.
Always so sad to hear about one of our fellow members in a situation like this. Sending prayers to the Count.
So sorry to hear this. Best thoughts and prayers for him and his family.
Oh no.... he's a mainstay and someone I always look forward to hearing from in the conversation.
Truly hope that it doesn't get more serious.
Terrible news. He posted so many delightful observations. I wish him well (though, hospice care is bad news).
Hey Guys
Sadly I have an update on Dan. The doctors have said there is nothing else they can do for him and he is being moved to a nursing home. I will continue to update. Had a lot of time for Dan. He interviewed me for Videoscope magazine and was a regular at DD in his better days. We used to argue, in a good way, about politics on FB. But never any anger. Sad times.
Very sad, indeed, Spock.

Very sad, indeed, Spock.
It is indeed Mike. I will post updates as I get them.
I'm sorry to hear this extremely sad news. I believe in miracles and hope that he is gifted with one. Hugs and best wishes to this kind cat loving man.
Wait, what?!
Noooooo
God damn it. A legend round these parts
I've been afraid to look in this thread for fear of what I may find.
:(
Same. Really sorry to hear this.
UMA member Dan Cziraky (Count Zirock) passed on this morning at 3:10 am Eastern Time. Not only was he a great friend, but a true monster kid throughout his life. Dan will be very much missed. Rest in peace Dan. (https://i.postimg.cc/NMfRWHym/000aad.jpg)
Just heard the sad news myself. So sad to hear this. He will be missed.
I was afraid of this but I was resigned to the inevitability of his passing. Count Zirock joined less than a month after I did and contributed enormously to this board over the last 9+ years.
:(
Oh, fudge. It's a sad day here at the UMA. R.I.P., Count Z. We're going to miss you! :'( Condolences to his family and loved ones.
Sincere condolences to Count Z's loved ones. May he be at peace and find to his delight or dismay that there really is a Rainbow Bridge. Hugs to all. :(
So sad to hear this, rest in peace Dan.
Really sorry to hear this. We had some good times together here. He went through tough times back in the day at the UMA and, obviously, tough times again recently. I hope he found happiness and some sense of fulfillment between those times. It's just not very fair, you know that people who obviously touch a lot of people's lives in positive ways have to suffer so much in such relatively short time. Goodbye, Count Z. You will be missed.
It's definitely raining tears in Monster Land. I've been FB friends w/Dan for years, lot's of great chats, but sadly I never met him in person. Still, I'm pleased to call him a friend, & he'll always live in my heart.
I miss Dan so much, already. We talked about everything and he was filled with movie and monster knowledge. He was like my brother and I can't believe he's not on our planet any more. I only wish I had visited him before the virus closed us down. Anyway, Dan was my monster buddy, and I met him here on the UMA, so I'm grateful to have had him in my life.
Rest in peace Dan.
Rest easy Count Zirock.
Spirits of the Dead
Thy soul shall find itself alone
'Mid dark thoughts of the grey tomb-stone;
Not one, of all the crowd, to pry
Into thine hour of secrecy.
Be silent in that solitude,
Which is not loneliness — for then
The spirits of the dead, who stood
In life before thee, are again
In death around thee, and their will
Shall overshadow thee; be still.
The night, though clear, shall frown,
And the stars shall not look down
From their high thrones in the Heaven
With light like hope to mortals given,
But their red orbs, without beam,
To thy weariness shall seem
As a burning and a fever
Which would cling to thee for ever.
Now are thoughts thou shalt not banish,
Now are visions ne'er to vanish;
From thy spirit shall they pass
No more, like dew-drop from the grass.
The breeze, the breath of God, is still,
And the mist upon the hill
Shadowy, shadowy, yet unbroken,
Is a symbol and a token.
How it hangs upon the trees,
A mystery of mysteries!
