I agree. How sad that the band will soon be in retirement . Luckily, I got to see SLAYER.....errrr, F***** SLAYER, last year.

If my memory served me correctly, I think I saw Slayer around 1989. They are one of the biggest pioneers of metal. It was Metallica and Slayer who basically paved the way for thrash.

Dude that video is hilarious
I've seen slayer several times. Three shows stand out:
1) First time I saw them I was freshman in High School. Saw them on Clash of Titans Tour with Megadeth, Anthrax, and Alice in Chains. Ticket was like $10. Can you imagine? Epic.
2) Ozzfest with original Black Sabbath headlining. Judas Priest there too (Halford had just rejoined). Talk about freakin heavy show. Legends.
3) Saw them on World Painted Blood Tour. Important cuz that's last time we'd ever see original Slayer lineup. Jeff Hanneman died not long after tour, then Dave Lombardo quit. Dont get me wrong, current touring lineup pretty damn good, but Hanneman and Lombardo were my fav members. Hanneman was the most prolific songwriter in the band and Lombardo the best musician. So just not the same now imo.
