It's been a rough couple weeks. On October 1st, my best friend Ray, who I've known for 50 years passed away. We met in 7th grade at age 13 and have been buddies ever since. He was godfather to my kids and wound up marrying my wife's best friend 30 years ago. We were very close. He was like the brother I never had.
He shared the same love of our classic monster films as we do. He was a big Vincent Price fan and we spent many fun times through the years watching horror films and comedies. Our favorite mutual film was YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN. We also loved the original STAR TREK series and used quotes from movies and shows all our lives in regard to things going on in life.
As sadly common to so many, it was cancer. He had a great sense of humor, even right up to the end. The first time I saw him using a nebulizer, he breathed heavily through the mask doing a Darth Vader 'I am your father' bit. He fought hard since May, but he was ready to accept God's will if remission was not to be.
My family and I already miss him so much. RIP my good friend. See you on the other side.
So sorry to hear of the loss of your good friend. When are we going to find the key to eliminating this terrible disease?
Thank you Mike.
