IN COLD BLOOD is one of my original shock films - mostly because of the ending: the last hanging has the brutal sound of the scaffold's floor collapsing and then a totally-black scene. The ultimate end.
Decades later, there was the older, paunchier Scott Wilson as the father Herschel to the WD farm, then prison.
He died Oct 6, 2018. A long long career.
Very sad passing. He had so much heart in his performances. R.I.P.

Ah, the coincidence! WALKING DEAD's Season 9 opener ends with a hanging, so reminiscent of the end of IN COLD BLOOD. And an a'chapeau to the WD producers who inserted an "In memory of Scott Wilson" scene.
Oh no! Very sad. I didn't think he was quite that old, though ICB was 52 years ago! R.I.P., Hershel.
