QuoteThe only one I've seen,
Think it is made by Federal Glass, check it. They used to sell them at the House of Frankenstein Wax Museum and a little souvenir shop in Lake George. Have not been in there in years , so do not know if they still have them for sale. Very cool mug.
I just remembered another place that had them...was a store called Kitsch in Saratoga Springs on Caroline St. . Do not know if that is still open. Seeing that mug brought back some cool memories. Ha
You are correct ! Federal glass it is ! Thank you very much sir !
They also made them in Orange:

(Sorry for the awful picture)
I saw that auction, but I already have both colors. You got a very good price. These cups don't show up on sBay very often.

Hmmm.. $276.00. There's a happy seller.
If someone here bought it, post a better picture. I'd like to see the true color on that one.
If you bought it at that price ...would you tell anyone ? As far as I know, they came in white, yellow, light orange, orange, burnt orange, and green drab.

If I wanted it that badly... Maybe. Probably wouldn't go around telling people. (I wouldn't lie about it, if asked.)
Mine were purchased for about $20 and $30 each. It's been too long ago to be more exact.
I haven't seen one sell in a long time, so I don't know what they routinely fetch. But I never expected that one to go so high!

See, that is a mug you could actually use. But for 200 + dollars, not sure if I would be using it.

True dat.
Maybe it was bought by someone who got one just like it on a trip to the Museum when they were little, on one of those days we older collectors mis-remember as being "perfect", but then lost or broke it later on.
It could have been someone recapturing a priceless memory.
Hope so.

I have the yellow, orange, burnt orange and green ones in my Florida winter quarters home. (Along with tons of other stuff.) Will take pics when I am there. Saw a white set on Etsy a few months ago. Sold for under $85.00.

Not a scratch. Gulf coast, no worries ....yet.
In 1978, Universal did a couple milk glass cups that included images of the Monster and the Bates House:

These don't show up on eBay all that much.
Now those I have not seen. Has Frankenstein's monster ! Nice. Any markings as for manufacturer ?

None. I believe they were park exclusives.

Me, too - but the shot glass is nice.
Looking for my House of Frankenstein mugs, and I asked someone to take picture of my coffee mug rack in Florida. They sent me this. At least we can see a green one and a yellow one. Still looking for the different orange colored ones.

Here is a nice yellow one... http://tinyurl.com/yaudlw4y (http://tinyurl.com/yaudlw4y)
The current high bid on this auction just dropped more than $40. The high bidder just retracted the bid they placed 3 days ago.
This same bidder,
9***s(760★), has retracted
30 bids in the last 6 months.
(The current top bidder,
w***5(3653★), has bid 8 times on this auction and topped his own winning bid 3 times. He has a 21% bidding history with the seller of the cup.)
Looks like the guy who retracted his bid suspected #2 was a shill for the seller.
If the bidder -760- retracted his bid, why does his other bids still remain ? And wouldn't he be the shill bidder , if any, with his bidding record and driving prices up. According to ebay you can only retract a bid under certain conditions. If you make a mistake , you have to re-enter another amount, which -760- did not do. The auction did not change and I am sure the seller can be contacted somehow. I think -760- is the odd bidder. And what do you mean the bidder, -365- , topped his own bid ? Didn't he just keep trying bids to beat the top bidder ? And isn't that done by ebay in increments ? Very curious indeed.

Yeah... Like the former winner forced it to a new high. Then when no one topped him, withdrew his bid so he would not have to purchase.
Looks like 760 did re-bid on the 17th at 5:36 PM - the most recent bid.
How do you not catch a "mistaken" bid for 3 days? (I am uncomfortable with this auction.)

I think all his bids should be withdrawn. He knew what the top bids were. He still forced the other bidders to go higher. Not right at all. Would call ebay and fix that auction.

eBay should have a system notification feature whereby they are alerted of bidders who make an unusual number of withdrawals. I consider 30 in only 6 months suspicious. (How many withdrawals have you ever made?)
I've made only 2 in over 20 years - so few I remember them both.
yeah... i reported this to ebay early this morning.

eBay history shows that it ended as a "Buy-It-Now". Maybe the new high bidder threatened to also withdraw and file a complaint unless it was ended now.
Maybe eBay acted on Count Zero's report. (They never tell what action, if any, they take.)
A whole lotta nuthin over a $30 mug.
