I just loved "The Prisoner".
Dead in LA, age 80. Damn it all to Hell, I loved that guy! (Not that there's anything wrong with that.)
Sorry to read this bit of sad news. McGoohan has always been a favorite of mine....
This absolutely sucks. There's no other way for me to say it. He was such an artistic influence for me. I loved his work in both front and back of the camera as a director. He was really a massive talent who was incredibly unique and innovative. Quite a rarity.
Just this Monday, I was looking at the pop art painting that I did of McGoohan being followed by good old Rover and wondering where I was going to hang it because I wanted some Prisoner stuff on my one vacant wall. :)
He just seemed immortal, didn't he? Wow. What an absolute bummer.

He was terrific going up against Columbo a couple times. I think Patrick and Peter Falk were really good friends.
"The Prisoner" was always one of my favorite cult shows....I just bought the complete DVD set last year....

It looks like 2009 is starting out to be anohther year of loss.
Being a huge spy fan, I loved watching The Prisoner. I always liked how No.6 would try and escape the Village, only to have Rover bring him back. Another huge loss to the world, and another shining star for Heaven.
Number 6 has his freedom at last.
