Rob Bottin killed it with his effects in this movie! The only thing he didn't do was the dog effect which Stan Winston was called in to do because Rob was so overwhelmed with work. Rob Bottin worked on the Thing for a year straight with no breaks and when he was done he had to be admitted to the hospital due to extreme exhaustion. Still one of my all time favorite movies!
