The promo's pretty good - "He's a turtle!" and "destroying property of innocent people" are hoots.
In the movie BIG, Tom Hanks is in a 'team meeting' with his toy-company exec's, pitching new ideas, and Tom's character complains that "It's only a building! Who wants to play with a building? Couldn't he turn into a monster bug, and crush cars?"
There's nothing like the Kaiju universe for incredibly creative creatures. I mean, "giant turtle" is fine. Give him fangs worthy of eye-poking abilities.
But do they stop there?!! No!
"Let's have him fly around like a giant frisbee, powered by nuclear-blue flames from his legholes."
Yeah. Sure. Good idea. Why not?!!
I mean, for "no holds barred" critter designs, nothing comes close to the kaiju universe.
I wonder if any of them said, "No no, too heavy... too much costume... no no, try something less." I dunno... I bet that person gets boo'd out of the meetings.

I think the kids will get a dose of Sat Morning TV. And "Guiron" is the bizarro opponent that I never remember its name, but never forget the schnoz... "Is that a saw-blade he swallowed, or just a big ol' slice of watermelon?"
Either or...

..Gamera: Guardian of the Universe, Gamera 2: Advent of Legion, and Gamera 3: Revenge of Iris.
Those three Gamera films from the '90s are excellent! Any kaiju fan who hasn't seen them should check them out. ;)
