Whenever people talk about "scary" dolls in films, they go right to Chucky and now Annabelle, but I think the ZFD is really the king of them all. All he wants to do is kill.
Saw the old TV Guide article below and it reminded me of the old days. This is the type of thing I would have read hundreds of times and looked at with a magnifying glass in attempt to glean clues on how to make my own ZFD.

Majestic Studios made 13" tall replicas back in 2004. There's one currently listed on eBay.
