The only bad thing is, they start replacing the Halloween stuff with Christmas merchandise before Halloween even gets here. Oh well, my house is set on Halloween mode all year long.

Hold on a second.. So Halloween is not celebrated 365 days a year by everyone? I didn't get the memo on that. Wow, all these years I have acted like it's Halloween everyday. Well, at least I found out now. Better late than never. ;D

Yeah, I hate to break it to you. When I visit friends & family, they see house décor as "seasonal". I was starting to feel like a freak until I saw your post. I'm glad I'm not the only one that has skulls & zombie stuff out all year long. My girlfriend insists on this thing called a "Christmas tree" in December (you heard of those?). I figured that was ok since I found those Frankenstein, Dracula, Alien, Jason, Freddy, & Leatherface ornaments to put on it. Joy to the world, brother.

Why are you dressed like its Halloween?  You look so absurd.  You look so obscene.

But that's okay in my book.

Yeah our A/C Moore & Michaels have had the Hween stuff out for a couple weeks now. I live for this. They all know me personally cuz Im there every day w/ my 55% coupon getting the Spooky Town stuff. Then they ask if I decorate for Hween and I just have to chuckle. I am also one of those who has a Hween / horror house. The only room that isnt filled is my sons bedroom. After he moves out, it fair game!
The next couple months will be spent lurking about the stores...

Looks like Party City to me.  JoAnn also has them, but they have all sold out at my store.

The skeleton vultures look great!

I used to work at Party city for 4 years. Every year the Halloween stuff would come out earlier and earlier.  It was the store's biggest money maker.  Always loved stocking new stuff on the shelves, which I would sometimes buy (or steal).

My local Spirit Halloween opened last week. I've already been there twice. Walking into the store, seeing all the new displays, the fresh smell of latex wafting over from the masks aisle...it's like coming home.

Do they have any new, life-size, motion-activated figures yet?

Several, it seems. I've really got my eye on their three headed cerberus

The Incinerator Zombie looks nice, too.

I also liked their Harbinger of Hell:

There are a myriad of other items that are excellent as well.

Probably only good for Halloween night... The muzzle does allow a dog to pant, as the jaw is movable...It doesn't look that hard to make as you can start with a dog muzzle as a base, and there are plenty of fangs in stores now.

Picked up these 9" styrofoam heads from Jo-Ann Fabric;

They also had a witch.  I have no idea what I'm going to do with them....yet.

Hit all the Halloween merchandise hot spots today and saw a bunch of stuff I'd love to have.  Unfortunately Spirit wasn't quite ready to go and didn't have anything plugged in.

I haven't seen these products in stores, but they are popping up on eBay (at wildly varying prices) so they must be out there.  They look like the kind of thing that is sold loose at Michaels Craft Supply stores.  One water globe seller states that their item came without a box.

This is a 22 in. bust with red LED eyes:

The tag says "SpookyNight".  I was unable to find anything about them.

Here is a paint variation that is also available:

The busts look familiar but I think the LED eyes might be a new feature this year.

These 8.75 in. water globes appear to be by the same manufacturer:

This 28 in. resin statue from one of the same sellers looks as if it might also be a new item - it's new to me.

Here is another interesting item that is showing up on eBay - again at broadly ranging prices.

Freaky Foggers 8.75 in. heads from GeoGlobal Partners that use plain tap water and have a red light that shines out the eyes.

Fogging Frankie:

Also comes in a Skull version:

I visited World Market yesterday, although they had cleared floor space for displays none of their Halloween merch was there in crates or boxes let alone out for sale yet. Two to three weeks was the estimate given from the manager.
Same with Zurchers a party costume store, that still had summer stuff up! but had several isles barren in anticipation of shipments.
Halloween City was a total disappointment as usual.
Michael's didn't have anything that caught my eye except a curious Frankenstein nutcracker poking out of a box on a high up shelf I couldn't reach for closer examination.
I did buy two of the Joann's fabric store Frankenstein styrofoam heads as they look pretty good in person although at 10 bucks each I hesitated mightily. Several had a mold mark right on the chin ruining it for me and some had no definition detail on the hair. I comparison shopped for the best two. The Zombie wasn't cool enough for me, there also was a crap stryofoam skull (that is the same and 3 bucks cheaper at Michael's), and a very cool styrofoam witch that had old classic nostalgia look,I stared at it for several minutes but then didn't buy one.

Local Big Lots has begun to put things out.  Two very short isles - nothing to speak about, yet.

I've been hoping that this would be a really big merchandizing year, since Halloween is on a Saturday.  Of course, I hoped the same thing for the Friday Halloween last year.

The Menards near where I live has started to put out some stuff. I purchased today a talking raven in a rusted cage that will look excellent as an accent piece for my cemetery this year. They also had a mini Frankenstein that takes off his head on clearance for fifteen dollars. Their animatronics are also reasonably priced. They have a cool Medusa, whose snake hair wriggles and writhes atop her head and it's less than $90.00.

Zargone's are great! They used to be called "Be Something Studios". They're one of the most comfortable masks to wear and they are quality made. They also have some great original designs.

These 17½" X 41" plastic wall hangings from Create a Scene (Momentum Brands) are selling in large enough numbers on eBay to suggest they are currently available ins stores.  The two different package colors might mean that they are items that were also on sale in a previous year.

They are new to me, so here they are:

The stated dimensions seem curious to me.  The illustration on the package does not appear to be of an image that long and narrow.

They are really thin plastic.  The warning is probably because it would be like not letting your kids play with Saran Wrap - the little dears might suffocate themselves.

It's the parent advocacy groups that are dumb. Man, I would hate to have to be a kid in this over-protective environment. You might as well wrap all your offspring in bubble-wrap until they turn twenty-one.

Home Depot has quite a bit to offer this year; I picked up a vulture, an Edison style flicker bulb (for porch), a spotlight that projects ghosts that float around (they also have spiders, witches and skeletons), a set of 5 string light bulbs that project swirling purple and orange "crystal" effect (they also have red and yellow and both can also be bought as spotlights) and a flickering "oil" lamp with 7 sound effects....there are more things that I'd like to pick up but may have to hope to pick them up on clearance.  I took pics and unless someone beats me to it, will post them later.

Home Depot used to be a great spot to pick up some decent Halloween decor. Back in 2006, I picked up a three foot tall zombie butler candy bowl from there and it was one of my favorite decorations for a long time. Now, at least at the Home Depot near where I live, you'll be lucky to find strands of orange lights.

I picked one of these up at the Dollar Store. Mine didn't have clothes. There are 3 different poses. I'm still growing mine and it really does grow, slowly. Still pretty cool. Watch the video.

Just to throw it out there, to maybe give your zombie a growth spurt, I did a science project with grow creatures in grade school. Same creatures in salt water vs tap vs distilled water. The distilled water ones grew HUGENORMOUS! My hypothesis was that the impurities in the salt water and tap water inhibited the absorption of the hydrophilic polymers. (Nerd kid)

I agree that Home Depot has some awesome and really fairly priced stuff this year, like an animated witch trio stirring a cauldron for $129 and a lunging 72" reaper as well.  Walmart has repops of the vintage blow molded lamps, still made in the USA, the dapper pumpkin and the cat/pumpkin.

As far as Walgreens, we're still putting stuff out, but I had to snap one of these up: an unofficial Creature from the Black Lagoon drink koozie by Hallmark for $3.99.  I want to share this specifically, because some jack-o'lantern on eBay is trying to sell them as "Rare" for $30.   Hope I saved some Creature guys some Halloween cash. :)

Remember those little motion-sensor red birds that were sold by the 99 Cent stores last Christmas?

Well, Dollar Tree is selling a better Halloween version.  This 3" Motion-Sensor Crow that caws!

They come individually bagged.

I'm going to get a bunch and hand them out to the trick-or-treaters this year.

I love giving them toys that continue to remind the little monsters of the holiday long past.

I'm even going to put a few around in my as-yet unfinished monster room.  (They will make good alarms for little kids who get too close to those toys they know they are NOT supposed to touch, but just can't resist.)

I just like the idea that they fit right in a monster room décor, alert me of potential problems, and give a gentle reminder to the kids without me having to be the bad guy and constantly tell them "no".

(The fact that they are dirt cheap ain't so bad, either.)

Went to 3 Dollar Tree stores without finding the crows.  They did have a little brown owl, but it sounded awful.  I ordered a case of 36 crows online.

CVS pharmacy had a lot of the dog, cat, rat and raven skeletons that are being made by Crazy Bonez.  They are selling them under the CVS "Spooky Village" label.  I really liked the 8" tall raven - bought one.  There didn't seem to be much else to recommend.

Saw a witch mask latex appliance by Rubies in a generic Halloween store.  There were two on the peg.  The one on top looked great, the other one was shriveled and bunched up looking.  All I can say is, if you see these appliances and want to get one, DON'T BUY THEM THROUGH THE MAIL.  These need to be seen in person before purchasing.  Quality varies greatly.

The local Walmart Food Store claw machine sold out of all the Toy Factory Universal monster plushes.  Now they are stocking monsters from a company called Sugar Loaf.  I saw many Frankensteins and a couple of Mummys on a previous trip.  My last trip, most of those were gone.  Looks like someone is grabbing them as soon as they restock.

Here is a sample of the Frankenstein, taken from an eBay auction (maybe by the same guy that is winning all those toys.)

I sure wouldn't buy one off eBay - but maybe they would be worth the 50¢ chance from a claw machine to one of you.

None of their skeletons are accurate.  Dogs and cats don't have boney ears.

I still think Tweety is cute.

I don't like them.  Looks like Frank is only on the outer bag - the one you immediately throw away.

I would rather they put him on each individual serving, so you when you give out the candy each kid gets an image of the monster.  Let's pass the love of our monsters on to the next generation of monsterkids.

Visited Walgreens.  Not much there this year.

There were some small "Nightmare Before Christmas" items - Jack Skellington plush dolls, cups, party supplies (plates, etc.).

They are selling the regular boxes of Boo Berry, Count Chocula, etc. cereal.

They also have some of the Crazy Bonez dog and cat skeletons that seem to be everywhere this year.

And they did have two moderately cute 39 in. skeleton motion-ettes.  They play musical instruments (arms move) and their eyes light up.

This guy is advertised as playing "Dixie", but the one I saw was playing something like "She'll Be Coming Around the Mountain".  Maybe this was in response to the big flap over the Confederate flag?

This hombre plays a guitar and sings "La Bamba".

The eyes look red in these catalog pictures, but the actual product eyes are more yellow.

Walgreens sticker price was $49.99 each.

This guy really stole the show at a Spirit store today...  More photos to come later ...

'Noted much higher prices this year. There was an LED programmable multi colored light for projecting on ceilings, I expected $29 or $39 and it was $95.  I can afford $ 95 but i feel it supports the activity of price gouging... Oh, but it will be on my mind ...  so maybe ...

Went back to World market and they have much more UM stuff than we expected
UM candy with generic cartoon images, new bride and frank plates and mugs, a new tin tray, some card stationary and some journals (both too pricy and cheaply made), and new bride and frank bags that are half the size of last year's, and the grape and green apple soda bottles, plus they still had all of last year's offerings.
the new black frank tin tray was my favorite find.

Frankenbites

Spooky Swirls Creature and Mummy

Frankenbar and Bridebar

New bride bag
(http://i1211.photobucket.com/albums/cc438/Mr_Incognito/DSC_0005.jpg)

New Frank bag
(http://i1211.photobucket.com/albums/cc438/Mr_Incognito/DSC_0006.jpg)

Bottles of soda and Bride plate, cool I want to go get more sodas
(http://i1211.photobucket.com/albums/cc438/Mr_Incognito/DSC_0007.jpg)

Note cards (greeting cards with envelopes) didn't buy too pricey
(http://i1211.photobucket.com/albums/cc438/Mr_Incognito/DSC_0009.jpg)

last year's whatnot and new killer black tray upper right corner, score!

Bride Scream cup, I didn't take a pic of the frankenstein cup or buy either one
(http://i1211.photobucket.com/albums/cc438/Mr_Incognito/DSC_0012.jpg)

Glenn Strange plates
(http://i1211.photobucket.com/albums/cc438/Mr_Incognito/DSC_0014.jpg)

pocket journals 3 in a set (poor quality)

very cool black tin tray, lousy cell photo but you get the idea
(http://i1211.photobucket.com/albums/cc438/Mr_Incognito/DSC_0018.jpg)

Old Navy has a selection of Universal Monster T- shirts, grabbed a Frank
(http://i1211.photobucket.com/albums/cc438/Mr_Incognito/FullSizeRender.jpg)

I also saw the universal costumes at Zurchers the Wolfman, Frankenstein's Monster and the Bride of Frankenstein, if you thought franky was embarrassing you should see the other two, It was so sad I refused to snap a pic. Why oh why would they license that crap as official?

OK got Mike his lollipops and even the display tray they come in. Do you think he will eat one or just stare at them for years?

Got the World Market girl to run the sku numbers for the tray with the Bride movie scene (4 figures) and the frankenstein wine tote. She said the distributor had the trays and will ship to store in next two weeks, and the totes were on a pallet in the back that hadn't been unwrapped yet. I ended up with a we'll call you rain check for both...maybe I should just order online.
In one day nearly all of the plates were gone and the display was half the size it was yesterday.

I thought the World Markets around here were just on corporate's dookie list, as I haven't seen half this cool stuff yet.  But after picking the lady manager's brain she confirmed that stuff is still coming in (sodas are due tonight).  So I guess just keep an eye out for more goodies.

While I was there I grabbed a few Creature pops, missed them on the first visit.

Yep. It does, Speed.  ;)

I bought an example of each color and style last year. Some deep-down Monsterkid urge makes me want to horde these things, but I fight that urge because I would run out of room PDQ. I feel a little blow mold crazy this year.. ordered a few BM things online and bought a giant blow mold candy bucket today. That's all I need now is to get hooked on those space eating blow molds  ::) .. but, damn, I just love those things.

Made a Halloween run today and got this stuff:

Went to World Market and all they had was last year's UniMon stuff and the new soda bottles. I did get some Shipyard Pumpkinhead, but I was hoping for Newcastle Werewolf. The Werewolf is damn fine. Gotta check WM again next month.

Hit four Walmarts and found no blow mold JOL lamps, and no monster cereal. Rats.

Got that beyotchin' giant rubber vampire bat at Party City. That thing has a wingspan of over 2 ft! They tried to overcharge by 2 bucks at the register but I called 'em on it and got it for $7.99. I wonder how many things mysteriously ring up more at the register than what they're marked on the rack.  ??? Folks who check out with a bunch of junk might not catch it. Very uncool.

Got that little Hween snowglobe and the 3 hanging paper monsters at Dollar Tree.

Got the monster cereals and treats at CVS. Also got that black skull candelabra there. That thing is metal. Gonna get some orange candles for it.

Target had maybe the best scores of the day: That gigantic blow mold JOL candy bucket, and the skeletal crow and rat. The crow's hogging the shot. All three of those were 6 bucks each.

I looked for the Crazy Bonez Skeletal Vulture all day but no dice. I suspected as much so I ordered it online yesterday. The buzzards are the coolest of the skeletal animals by far and all the cheap places online are sold out. They are available a few places and Amazon and ebay, but the ones that are left end up being around $28-$30. I made up my mind not to miss out on that vulture so mine is on it's way. Now if I could just find those blow mold retro lamps at Walmart...

I dig the blow molds too, probably because there's that huge vintage cheese vibe.  Plus most of the ones I see are still made in the USA. I grabbed the giant pail and a matching normal one both in black with orange eyes and mouth last year post-holiday on clearance. The orange over black has a cool dingy aged look.

I hate to be an enabler, but Target and Rite Aid both have more 33" blow mold stuff on their websites. ;) (Target's are online only I believe.)

Well, it's started.

At first it was just an appreciation for Halloween blow mold items. Then, I bought a few cheap candy buckets at Walmart. Next, I ordered some inexpensive new blow mold pieces from Amazon. Now, I find myself searching through eBay listings for old blow mold stuff with plans to bid on some "Watch List" items. Another collecting category to eat my money and my space (LOTS of space that I don't have). Why do those darn blow mold H'ween pieces have to be so Monsterkid attractive? Rats!  tynhrt

It's a disease, for sure. I've had several of the blowmolds for years, going back to when the current Frankenstein and Dracula were first released in the 90s. I've picked up a few here and there, but I'm always looking. My cheapness keeps me in check.

I LOVE blow molds!  I am fortunate to have several, though I had to get rid of some when I moved.  I ditched the Frankie, but kept the Drac.  I lost a ghost, but kept another.  Lots of pumpkin pails had to go, but I managed to salvage some vintage ones I really liked.  Overall, it's been a bit of give and take.  This year, I picked up the Walmart repro of the Black Cat and Pumpkin and then found an original in a thrift store.

AND I NEED MY CHOCULA BARS!  BUT NO ONE AROUND ME HAS THEM!  AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!  I shall be forced to make my own.

For me, there's a multifaceted appeal to the blow molds: Nostalgia. Still Made in USA. Their warm, inviting, yet eerie glow. A simple one piece of plastic, cast in one color, then spray bombed in a contrasting color.
I picked up my pair today as they started to sell down to only a few of each left.

^I couldn't find them online either. None of the three Wal-Marts I've been to had them either.

The burn on getting the larger blowmolds online is the shipping is often higher than the blow mold! I wish stores would stock these, and cut back on all of the inflatables.

I couldn't find them online either. That Walmart website isn't very good. I've checked four Walmarts  and their website for Hween coolness and haven't scored anything from them. Found some good stuff at Target, Party City, and online at Amazon and a couple of other places. I will, however, be buying the family size monster cereals from Walmart if my local store ever gets them.

Amazon offers free shipping on their big blowmolds ($35 minimum order).

I agree about the inflatables, they just don't appeal to me at all. I love those blowmolds though.

Since I couldn't find the blowmold JOL lamp repops at Walmart I ended up going the evilBay route with vintage. They're more expensive, but still pretty affordable for classic Monsterboomer items. Those Empires from the '60s are very cool.. and they're the real deal.

If you don't have the blow molds at your Walmart, it must mean that they are already sold out.  I went back to my store one week after first finding them, and they were all gone.

On another note, have any of you seen Chocula and friends at Target?  Is it just my Target that hasn't gotten these?

Well, Walmart.com told me a store 30 minutes away highway had the blow molds in stock, and that store not only didn't but didn't have the sku numbers even listed.

Searching online, there are two other items also rereleased.. and black cat on top of a jack with his elbow on it, and also a jackolantern totem.

http://good-tidings.com/itemlist.aspx?cat=5&subcat=137&page=2 (http://good-tidings.com/itemlist.aspx?cat=5&subcat=137&page=2)

Can someone post pics of the front of those tags or post the item description? None of the back numbers on the tag show up at Walmart.com at all, and another phone assistant spent a half hour trying to track down the cat one with no luck.

Its gotten to almost be a game for us now, to see if we can get Walmart.com or a store to even locate them.

Went to a Rite Aid Drug Store and was saddened to see barely one side of one half of an isle devoted to Halloween, and all generic junk.  But they did have 3 full isles of Christmas items and the top of the shelves in the toy isle was covered with large Christmas figures.

Stopped by a Stater Brothers Supermarket and was astonished to find that they did not have a single Halloween item in the entire store.  There were pumpkins in the produce section and one cardboard display for bags of candy that  they had allowed the candy salesman to erect in front of the checkout stands.  That was it.  I checked the store twice, thinking I must have missed their "Seasonal" isle.  Nope, nuttin'.

The Dollar Tree Store got the little motion-sensor Crows I ordered online.  They work great!  I was afraid they would sound lousy like the little owls I found in one store, but these actually sound like crows.  I recommend them.

Looks like the new moldy has crisper detail.  Is that because of the color difference, or do they look better in person?

Maybe the new ones are being made from better molds.

Stopped in my Walmart across the street tonight for a few things on the way home and there's still a couple of each blow mold left.  However, I noticed a few paint scuffs or blemishes on them from being knocked around on the shelf, but easy enough to retouch.  If someone here is really fixated on these and HAS to have them, I don't mind picking them up and shipping them. I think we have supply boxes at work that would fit them.  I wouldn't think the shipping is too bad as they're obviously light.  Now, I'm no blow-mold-buying-pro, so I'm not sure if this is anymore cost effective than getting others elsewhere.  Just thought I'd offer as there seems to be a lot of buzz about them.  Zombie Grin

My local Spirit Halloween Store had some great animatronic figures. Not all my pics caught them in action but they were really cool, especially the Cerberus which had light up eyes, smoke spewing mouths and great growling audio. Wish I would have caught that in action. This was one of the better Spirit stores I've been to, really big with a lot of stuff!

I'd say they're pretty similar, the new ones are thicker plastic and a bit more sturdy with sharper paint lines where the vintage ones look like they were painted freehand. Probably the the thickness and color of them that makes the new ones look more defined. A little less glossy as well.

I think Spirit has done a good job this year. Ive really been disappointed w/ their quality the last 4-5 years. I picked up one of the new props. I love that lava zombie, his colors are awesome. The manager at mine said they just started using a new company to design & produce the props. They are getting a big chunk of my change this year...

Is it the Lava Zombie that you bought scarey1scd?

Not yet Glenn, I got the doll looking girl in your second pic to the right of the demon. I was debating between the two when the manager said they were out of the doll prop..so that got the wheels spinning. Ever on the lookout for a bargain, I negotiated a very nice sale price for the display piece (w/ the original box of course!). I do want that zombie tho, he's just badass! Hopefully they will want to sell the display to me when its over...

Nice! That and the girl holding the baby are probably the 2 creepiest of the bunch. The Demon next to the one you bought was cool, when it operated the pen on the Necronomicon moved like it was writing. When I was there, there were 2 little girls staring at the girl w/baby while it was operating. They looked like they had just seen a ghost!  >:D Then Dad showed up and hauled them away. I did see him buy one of the crawling zombie's though.  :)

Zombie Grin
I've been stalking these things on evilBay of late and thought to report my findings. The more common vintage blowmolds like the 1969 Empire Scarecrow Pumpkin Dude (in the pic below, left) in nice condition with working light seem to fetch around $25-$35 counting shipping cost (and shipping is a BIG deal on the bigger ones). The bigger and harder to find ones go up from there, ranging from $35-$150 depending on the piece. There are also a lot of them on there with bad paint loss, fading, cracks, etc. which seem to be priced at 60-80% of the nice ones. I avoided those damaged ones as I think they are way overpriced (most should be about 1/4 of the value of nice ones IMO, but the sellers don't see it that way). I doubt if many of the damaged ones are selling at those prices. The blowmold haunted houses are in demand and expensive. Be prepared to lay out some shekels if you get a nice one.

My Scarecrow JOL Dude (Empire, 1969) arrived today (like the one in the pic above on the left). I haven't seen any of the repops in person, but from the look of the pic there is a definite difference in the plastic. The repops have finer detail (the plastic is probably harder/more brittle), but that waxy-looking deep orange plastic from the '60s is distinctive. I love the look of the vintage plastic, but some may prefer the newer ones (especially with the cost difference). I would have picked up a repop in a heartbeat if I'd had the chance, but, alas Walmart crapped out for us around my neck o' the woods so I went eBayin'. I'm pleased with the vintage piece for the price. It certainly has that '60s Monsterkid ambiance. Now, I'm waiting on the rest to arrive.

Nope. Also, I saw two blow molds at Kmart online sold out and not in any local stores. One was a purple witch with three black cats, and one was I think a pumpkin stack.

Lots of businesses will list online a list of the retail stores that carry their stuff, based on the stores that order their stuff of course. But of course not all businesses are sharp enough to provide an online list for everyone.

I haven't found one in the wild yet, but they're popping up on eBay sure enough.  Sold out online and no local stores have them in "available" or "limited" quantities when I do a zipcode search. But there is an email alert option should it come back in stock.  Sucks that they seem to have never made it out to the shelves with less than a month to go.

I got my 4 figure Bride/monster tray in the World Market store, only one was available and I had to beg the girl to run the sku number to go find it in the back. Alas the monster wine cozy was not there despite me having a rain check for three of them to be on hold which they swore was on the same palette that they hadn't unwrapped and unboxed yet and were supposed to call me when they did, but didn't of course. Anyone found one of those yet?

Trays, plates, suckers, and pop bottles were gone or nearly so on my third visit, all that was really left on the display was the peanut brittle, candy bars, a few napkins, cups, the odd coaster or two and the paper items like the diary thingys.

It all makes perfect sense. Someone comes up with great merchandise, and they don't stock it. Somebody else comes up with sh*t product, and it's al over the place. I think Universal fans are being punished for some previous, undisclosed sins.

All I can say is I knew I had to order the tray online.  I saw the layout from corporate for the display and compared it to the actual display in my store and was horrified at what was not there.  My store received less than half of the merchandise they were supposed to stock.  I don't get it either.

Meijer had some nice blow-molds in stock! I was surprised to see them. I picked up this jack-o-lantern for $20:

But they also had this ghost (which I already own) for $25:

They also had some odd, purple/blue bat-shaped thing that didn't have a cord, and to me, didn't really look much like a bat, so I passed.

Count Chocula is on the Cocoa Puffs box
Fruit Brute on Cookie Crisp
Booberry on Cinnamon Toast Crunch
Yummy Mummy on Lucky Charms
Frankenberry on Reeses Puffs
(http://i1211.photobucket.com/albums/cc438/Mr_Incognito/DSC_0023.jpg)
Of course I got all five, and promptly put back the Capt Crunch with green ghosts I was going to get.
Too bad they didn't actually come out with Yummy Mummy and Fruit Brute cereal this year.

Wonder what they put on the backs of the Booberry, etc. boxes themselves?

That's kind of bizarre to cross them over like that, I guess it could be to sell Count Chocula AND Reese's Puffs, but could the demand from the general public for monster cereals be that high?  Still, SUPER NEAT.

On the back of the monster cereals boxes I've seen so far, they're all the same, promoting an interactive free app, kind of like a one page comic book talking story deal.

I read there are three different sets of artwork on the boxes this year, and the target ones have a cut out assemble haunted house on the back.

Off to Target then to get the castle... I went several weeks ago to Target and they didn't have the cereals yet (boxes version 3), so I bought regulars at Walmart (boxes version 1) and saw them at Walgreen's (boxes version 1) as well. Weeks later I see family size monster cereals at Walmart (boxes version 2)and got them too but it wasn't until yesterday that I saw the crossover boxes (boxes version 4) at Wally world. I bought reeses and toast crunch for the first time in my life so their marketing gimmick worked, I have no plans to eat it though, I am giving away that cereal, yeeeiccch.

Are you just opposed to cereal? Because Cinnamon Toast Crunch is what I eat when I'm playing grown-up. It leaves the milk tasting very much like horchata. Haha.

When I was Google image searching "monster cereals 2015" for the castle, all the box art comes up too.  No real remarkable differences, the "main" box art and "castle" box art are basically mirrored.

Oh I love me some rot your teeth sugar sweet cereals, but never cared for Cinnamon Toast Crunch that much.
The 2015 non monster cereal cross over boxes with monster masks are not anywhere I have looked on the web and my google-fu is strong grasshoppa. Not even on the General Mills website, although that is hardly surprising, they fail to even mention Fruit Brute and Yummy mummy! Which is why I was so surprised to find them.

Target was told by corporate not to put the boxes out until October 4.  They are now displaying them with the regular cereals on an endcap.  The boxes have different art:

FINALLY got the two Frankenstein trays, the napkins, and the cool coasters. Also snatched an empty display box for the pops. So, it would seem that with less than two weeks to go and being told there would be no more shipments coming in, all hope is not lost. World Market's website has a local store stock checker on each item's page via zipcode input and it was accurate for my store and all three items.  Don't give up yet y'all!

Recently we lost one of our fellow Ghostbuster costumers to a auto crash. About 30 of us traveled to his funeral from across the country to honor him.

On our way back home, we stopped at a cracker barrel for some comfort food lunch, and what do we see? And animated ghost with a top hat (He frequently wore a top hat with his Ghostbusters uniform) , and as I walk up to it and touch it, it starts to play Ghostbusters.

Needless to say, we had to own it!

Also of note, they have a nice toon Frankenstein mug, and salmon halloween stuff is 40% off.

Thanks. It was really a tragedy.. He was 30, type 1 diabetes, and could get blackouts without knowing they were even coming on. He was in his Ghostbuster uniform, in his Ecto, heading to do a charity event, and blacked out and swerved into head on traffic.

He deserved a far better fate.

Here's the way to save on groceries.

Get your favorite cereal the day after Halloween for half price.  Cut the back of the box off and sell it for $7.00 on eBay.

(Gotta wonder if there will be a buyer.)
