I figured I would share this with you guys. I have a original pencil illustration of Chris Mueller Jr. sculpting the creature mask. The piece was done in 1983, and must have been given to Chris Mueller Jr. as a gift or something, possibly by the artist. On the back, in Chris Mueller Jr.'s handwriting he wrote "For dear Maxine from Chris" "February 16-1984" "A Universal Production" I assume he gave the piece as a gift to Maxine. Gracebuster added the following info to an old post I had on The HMA about this:
It's a great piece. The art was drawn by a VERY talented fellow named Ron Lizorty(sp).
Ron is the artist who created the wonderful Faux Marx Playsets in Bob Burn's collection. I used to marvel at the intricacies of the art on those pieces.
I am unclear of this pieces origin but it seems that he made some for Chris and Chris Mueller gave them out.
A fascinating and amazing artist, Mr. Mueller. Aside form parts of The Creature, he sculpted the HAUNTED MANSION plaque at Disneyland, The Peter Pan ride vehicle, a number of the Jungle Cruise animals, perhaps the Metaluna Mutant, and about a million other things!
I really love the piece and hope you will enjoy seeing it.

Would look good in my Creature collection! ;D
Is that a cardboard backing?
The cardboard is the backing of the frame, the art is not drawn on it, but the writing is.

You should replace it with something acid free (foam, or whatever).
That's a great piece!

I will do that, or try to put something between it and the art
