I finally got to see Zombie, been wanting to see this movie for awhile.
It was alright, not great, but not really that bad...like "City of the dead"
I got to see "Duel" again, another low budget but darn good movie imo.
And of course, they show a lot of Kungfu movies and one can never go wrong there 8)
I've tried to watch "El Rey", but all the movies are either censored, edited, or filled with endless commercials. They have great movies & shows, but you have to sit through a lot of crap to see them.
actually, every movie i haVE wached on El Rey has not been censored at all, strong language and even nudity as well.

Wow, I've got to check them out again. When I first watched El Rey, I watched a movie or two On Demand. They were edited & had many breaks. Maybe enough people complained to cause a change. I'll check it out today. Thanks for the info.

same here. Ive never seen a censored movie on El Rey
It's one of my favorite channels. I first started watching it for Lucha Underground but their whole programming line has me hooked. Miami vice, Old movies, weird spaghetti westerns, kung fu...etc.

sorry quoted wrong one lol
But, Hell yeah! that's the reason I started watching El Rey, Lucha Underground is the new ECW imo
I have enjoyed the 'In The Director's Chair' series and I really enjoyed the 'From Dusk Till Dawn' series.
El Rey, great and fun channel. Lots of cool flix
Every time I tune into El Rey it seems to be doing a seventeen hour straight Kun Fu marathon. Not bad if you're into old Kung Fu movies and I like them occasionally but it seems to be mostly that occasionally punctuated by bad television shows based on old Robert Rodriguez movies that seem more like they were produced by The Asylum. Monster/horror movies seem few and far between.
They did have a Giallo marathon for Valentine's Day, and I've caught Day of the Dead on there. The network DOES heavily feature the old Shaw Brothers films though. Some programming can be hit or miss, but I personally love The Director's Chair show where he sits down and interviews other directors. The one with John Carpenter was awesome.
I ride with El Rey! ...
love Lucha Underground and the awesome kung-fu movies!
They did an awesome Godzilla movie marathon this past weekend ("Kaijuly Roarth"). They even showed the restored, newly subtitled 1954 "Gojira" in Japanese, as well as the restored 1956 "Godzilla, King of the Monsters." The older kaiju films all appeared to be the restored versions from recent years. They also show a lot of monster movies, especially on their Friday Creature Double-Feature Fest. (This coming Friday it's "Cujo" and the Italian version of "The Black Cat.")
Finally saw CHUD through them. Excellent little 80's monster movie.
I just saw some of Zombie on El Rey. Tuned in during the infamous Shark V. Zombie scene and the woman's breasts were censored as was her crotch area. Later on in the eye gouging scene, the woman was in the shower and her breasts were once again censored. What gives? I thought this channel showed films uncensored? I recorded Fright Night just last week from there and the nudity was uncensored.
That's what I said earlier. Everybody said that I was wrong, but I know what I saw (or didn't see). I can't watch a horror film without breasts.

I would watch the channel occasionally only because the movies were uncensored. I no longer have TV, but if I still did, I would boycott the channel over the new policy.
(Maybe a censored copy was provided to them by mistake. Mistakes going the other direction have happened to other stations in the past.)
In the beginning the El Rey channel was very cool. Now it's following the same footsteps as IFC. Becoming very boring and predictable. What a F******* shame.
