Mezco Reveals NYCC-Exclusive Son of Frankenstein Figure
After the events of 1935′s Bride of Frankenstein, the man-made Monster played by Boris Karloff was down for the count... until he was revived by a son of the experimental doctor in 1939′s Son of Frankenstein. To celebrate the final film to feature Karloff as the Monster, Mezco has revealed a New York Comic Con exclusive Son of Frankenstein Figure.
Scaled to 9 inches, Mezco's Son of Frankenstein figure is limited to 500 items and can be purchased while supplies last at Mezco's booth #1855 at the New York Comic Con, which runs from October 9th – 12th. We have the press release with full details, as well as an early look at the figure:
New York- "Many thought the fire that destroyed the windmill destroyed the monster as well...they were wrong!
Following the success of their Universal Monsters Frankenstein, Mezco opens their laboratory door and reveals the Son Of Frankenstein limited edition figure.
This 9″ scale Frankenstein boasts ten points of articulation and is covered with scars from his assembly. Perfectly capturing the iconic look of the classic film, the monster wears a genuine simulated fur tunic with cloth sleeves. He stands atop his signature boots, towering over other figures.
Only 500 of this exclusive Son Of Frankenstein figure are available worldwide, so get yours before the villagers do!
This Mezco New York Comic Con Exclusive is a Limited Edition. A select number of collector's items will be available online at http://www.mezcotoyz.com/exclusives/ (http://www.mezcotoyz.com/exclusives/) , beginning August 22nd. Don't delay because once they are gone, they are gone forever.
Be sure to visit Mezco at New York Comic Con at booth 1855.

These must not be selling well... or else Mezco is simply trying to milk the license for all it's worth. I like the figure, but geez... This is like the fourth paint app this figure has gotten... Granted, this is the best. But I'm not biting.
The first edition is one of my favorite pieces in my entire collection. Seeing as how I did the aesthetic of this line, and the Son of Frankenstein monster is a personal favorite of mine, I'll be logging onto my computer first thing in the morning on the 22nd in the hope of attaining one of these bad boys. Really want this.
yeah maybe after they fail to take the mummy out there just playing dress up with frankenstein remember rebel frankie
It's going to depend on cost plus shipping but I must say I'm really tempted. I'd hate to give them money for another repaint when they haven't even given us The Mummy yet though.
I've said it before & I'll say it again, I really hate this chimp-face Frankenstein no matter how they dress him (SoF animal fur or S&M leatherboy).
I like Mezco as a company, and I liked the original designs for this series. But I'm not buying any more figures from this line until they release the Mummy. I'm not interested in a dozen variations on the same two characters. I would have thought that by now we would have seen a second series, not still waiting on the Mummy.
My thoughts exactly.
I've had that mummy pre-ordered for a year and a half now.
Very rare Mummy b/w variant on the way too....

I am on the "where the hell is the mummy" bandwagon too. I would have never bought the other two figures without the mummy on the packaging to finally convince me. Who cares about a NYCC exclusive mummy B/W limited release, how about the mummy release period? I stand by what Ray said, if they want any more of my money give us that mummy you promised or a really damn good explanation exactly why you can't or what the hold up is. Ridiculous.

How can you have a "variant" when no other version exists? Just thinking out loud.
I'm buying both. And the regular Mummy when it is released.
The Mummy's release date is October 2014 and has been for 6 months.

Yep yep, I got notified via both! I'm still excited to see the mass release version after seeing the display at a couple of the cons, and already have a place for him in the monster display with the other Mezco's!
not my cup a tea. but if i see one in person it may change my mind.
I have to admit that I haven't been a fan of this series, but that Mummy is a bit of a game changer. Definitely captures the Karloff Mummy at it's most fearsome. It accomplishes the awesome feat of making the Creature and the Monster seem tame by comparison. Kudos to Mezco, you might get some of my money after all.

Yeah, I may have to get that Mummy if it ever actually comes out, but NIX on that Leatherboy Frankie.
I only bought the Frankenstein because I liked the Creature, and I only bought the Creature because I knew we'd get this Mummy.
That being said, I am glad we will be together with Mummy soon.

What he said. Too cartoony looking!
I talked to my local comic shop and had him look up several things to see when they might finally be distributed and he said his Mezco mummy order had been cancelled with no explanation. Ominous indeed for a product that had been announced almost 2 1/2 years ago and then had it's release delayed and pushed pack more than a few times. Clearly there has been some issue with that figure that is causing a major hold up. I wouldn't hold your breath.

Universal Monsters: 9" Mummy
Buried beneath the sands of time he rested, until he was awoken by Mezco's award-winning design team.
Now, Mezco proudly presents...The Mummy!
This iconic terror from the beneath the sand stands 9" tall and captures the intricate detail of each ancient bandage: from his mysterious eyes, to his legendary scarab ring.
With 11 points of articulation he'll be able to take out any explorer who dares to come between him and his tana leaves.
He is packaged in a full color, collector-friendly window box.
Ships in October 2013.
And we first heard about it in way back in Feb. 2012 (two years, 5 months and counting)

I dig 'em!! I would think that if the regular series does well along with the Deluxe Frankenstein that we will see Deluxe versions of the other two.

Certainly does look cool though, I wanted to buy it a long time ago, and it convinced me to buy the other two. I definitely hope the planned release in Oct 2014 is legit this time.
I could be wrong, but the face sculpt might have been changed a little. Check out the pix of the silver screen one on the previous page.
It's definitely a different face sculpt! Good eyes, Mord! (All eight of them!)
For those interested in purchasing one or both of the NYCC 2014 exclusives via mail, they are available right now on Mezco's site and are scheduled to ship in mid October.

No idea, bro. This old pic just shows 6. Have you been visiting Dr. Frank N. Stein again? ???

Maybe they're counting my glasses as the other two. Love that picture in my old car, HH.

Remember that time you were on that date with that certain Hammer lady... Yeah. She definitely posted a selfie on Instagram. Your noggins were in the background.
From what I could see, it was definitely
not an improvement over your previous car photo.
Yeah, that one's a keeper.
