So I wore a fez on an internet radio show and now people keep thinking I'm a Dr Who fan
(I start at the 1:29:00 mark)

but what is funny / sad is when I say "Actually I wore it because of Karloff in the The Mummy, and Akbar & Jeff" virtually nobody knows what I am talking about.

Also, I DO like the Doctor, but the fez was not a tribute to him.
I would have immediately thought "MUMMY"! That's the first place my mind goes when I think- FEZ :)
And I'm sure you were rockin' the fez!
Couldn't see you, but I'm sure you looked quite handsome.
My old computer lacks the video card compatible with radio.
When I wear my fez I usually look like I just came back from a Sons Of The Desert convention . . .
Or like a scruffy Sidney Greenstreet ::)
BTW, nice to know somebody else remembers Akbar and Jeff! 8)
I'm thinking of ordering this one for myself:

Nice looking fez! I bought a plain one at Universal Studios back in the 90s, but I must have given it away or my kids may have hidden it from me. I really want to find my fez...or die trying! :)

And from one of the last great haberdashers left in the USA,
John Helmer of Portland (since 1921)

Fester- I NEVER knew the joy of so many colors of fezzes! The green one has my heart!
And that haberdasher- whoa! He has some grand artistry in his designs. Fezzes look good on anyone, so I predict they will increase in popularity- mostly thanks to Gillfan! :)
Though a card carrying MonsterKid, I always think of Laurel and Hardy when I see a fez!
Too many Monsterfans get upset that Karloff only played a wrapped mummy very briefly in the film. They don't appreciate how subtle, and well done Karloff's makeup looks in the rest of the movie.
Fester, I'll wear "Sons of the Desert" or a Cthulhu fez any day.
Sorry Gillfan you were thought of as a Dr. Who fan and you would have cinched the deal if you also had on a bow tie! As the good Doctor says, "Fezzes are cool!"
The Mummy and Laurel & Hardy rule in fez!
