Dear UMA friends--
I've been slow to post about the celebration and remembrance of Linda Miller that wife Jane and I attended last month. (Hell, I've been slow to post much at all around here.) There are several reasons, and I'll mention some another time. But camera trouble, house buying, and a fear that I'd have to post all at once are the main reasons.
But I am up to the task of starting to share photos the event and all the other stuff that was part of the trip. I'm going to use my moderator's privilege and sticky this thread (at least for a while) so that I'll keep thinking of it and posting.
As I have to go in to work in just a few hours (and I haven't been to bed yet), I'm just going to share a few pics tonight.
Here's what Linda was working on just before passing:

I believed it to be an image of St. Louis (the man, not the city.) But on 2nd look, I'm not so sure. But Linda loved history as much as art and humor.
Next is the antique book she wrote quotes that she liked in:

And last, some crests and, I believe, a portrait of Prince Albert (freed from his can!-- only old folks like me will get that joke):

More pics and reporting very soon!
Thanks, Max.
Thanks for starting this thread Max, I've been looking forward to seeing this exhibit since hearing about it here. Get some sleep and good luck with the house buying!

Dear UMA FANG-MILY,
... I'm, of the serious opinion, that, LINDA lived 5 lives, in one short Life-span!
... Her works are indelibly beautiful; that she could make time, for such a massive volume, of intensely exquisite precision, amid her working / writing / viewing / Family & personal time needs, is an Inspiration, to me.
... Again, GOD is CREATING quite a MONSTER KID Unit, in a Portion, of HEAVEN! May MEEK, FORRY, BEVERLY, in Company, with our MONSTER KID Progenitors, BORIS, BELA, LON, Sr. & Jr., JACK, etc., BE about HEAVEN'S Work, of LOVE, Praying, for us, until GOD'S Call comes, to us, take us HOME!

I found in my files some photos our incredible Meek sent me of the Adirondack chair-art project she had completed for a charity event. Various artists painted chairs, and the chairs were put up for auction. Meek's brought the highest bid, and rightly so! I'm sorry I can't locate a photo of the whole chair, but here are parts of it in progress:
The chair back:

Close-up of Shakespeare's coat of arms at top of middle splat:

On the reverse of that:

The arms of the chair:

That chair is absolutely stunning. Thanks for sharing that Robert. Any idea just where that chair ended up?
Wow! What a wonderful talent the good Lord has called home. Our loss is his gain. The next time I see a rainbow I'll think to myself that maybe meek painted it? ;)
