Folks
Remember when monsterfest on AMC used to be good, or the colorization of Night of the Living dead back in the 80's? I just uploaded a lot of my old VHS tapes to youtube. Just go to the site and type in "Monsterfest 2000" and all my stuff should pop up. Also, if anyone has any old tapes recorded off TV they want transferred to DVD contact me. JKBurk06(*at*)gmail.com

AMC was really good before 2002 when they started interrupting the movies with commercials. It got worse yearly after that. Back in the good AMC days I copied quite a bit on VHS and burned them to DVD a few years ago. I have several movies from Monsterfest 2K on DVD, as well as MF2001 & MF2002. MF 2K was especially good with great host segments by Linda Blair and Whoopie Goldberg. "Wolfman!...Get away from that tree!. Put your leg down, Wolfman!"
Watching them now Kevin, Brings back great memories, thanks :)
I used to spend all day with AMC, now Turner gets my vote. Not only does AMC have a ridiculous amount of commercials, but some of their movie selections leave a lot to be desired.
Great stuff, Kevin! Thank you for posting those videos. :)
AMC used to do a monster fest? Shoot! I've seen old horror movies on AMC but not as a fest! I first watched AMC in the early 1990's when it was still good. It started to turn for the worse around 1999, 2000 IMO.Now there are commercials and the movies are more current. I miss Nick Clooney, Bob Dorian and all the older films that were shown. Boy, did I do A LOT of video taping back then! I still have all of the "Planet of the Apes" films they first showed back in oh...August 1998 (I believe) PLUS the hour long special hosted by Master Roddy McDowall! AMC showed the full-screen movies during the day so I waited until the evening to record them in wide-screen. I still have them.
The first time I ever saw "The Old Dark House" was on AMC and yes, "The Uninvited". Ah, them days.

I believe he's referring to stuff like "True Blood," "Being Human," and "The Vampire Diaries."

Dark Shadows should never be compared to "True Blood", "Being Human," and "The Vampire Diaries". Period.

They weren't being compared. It was a clarification. Because the "Depp Shadows" film was so critically lambasted, MGM is letting the property remain in limbo. Instead of admitting it was an atrocity, they just shrug their shoulders and claim, "There's no interest in a 40-year-old gothic soap opera." Idiots.

It would be fun to watch one of those, again! I have the bumpers and interview segments from MF Outer Limits marathons.
