Considering how far afield their "Dracula" series has gone from both the novel and Universal's own films, I'm not overly optimistic.

You dudes are over-thinking this. It's TWILIGHT....all you have to do to inflict maximum pain is play them.
I wonder if they are going to follow the police inspector (who was bitten) in the movie as the new wolfman. If they keep it based on the film with rich scenery, great props and hopefully the same actors it could be good. If it is just more dracula tv or I, frankenstein CGI garbage movie style that are so far removed from the original characters as to be a total waste of time, I'm out.

NBC is to adapt The Wolfman for television.
The network will team up once again with writer Daniel Knauf, who currently serves as showrunner on Dracula, reports Deadline.
The Wolfman will be based on the 2010 film version, which starred Benicio Del Toro and Anthony Hopkins.
The franchise originated with a 1941 movie featuring horror legend Lon Chaney Jr in the title role.
NBC's new adaptation is being eyed for Friday nights - in the slot currently occupied by Dracula - where it will air alongside supernatural drama Grimm.
Knauf previously created HBO's cult series Carnivàle, and worked as a writer and consulting producer on Spartacus: War of the Damned.

The untitled telenovela is an original concept that chronicles the ruthless supernatural machinations of the six governesses of an exclusive Hancock Park women's club, the true powers behind every throne in The City of Angels. Knauf is writing and will exec produce with Electus' Ben Silverman and Jimmy Fox. That project joins format adaptation Black Widow in Electus' 3-for-1 NBC deal, with the network eying a series pickup for one of the projects to air following telenovelas' traditional air pattern of multiple episodes a week. Knauf, repped by Resolution, Industry Entertainment and Holmes Weinberg, previously created the cult HBO series Carnivale.
Damn. I was hoping they would follow characters from the film like the inspector Aberline and Gwen. Guess I shoulda read the OP's link before posting.

I watched the Dracula series for about 10 minutes and turned it off. I don't have a lot of faith about the Wolf Man series.

Especially since it's from the same producer as NBC's "Dracula." Which looks great, and has incredible production values, but the story and acting are just wretched.

I see the main problem here being how to keep the fur sparkly enough for the full moon to reflect it for the camera.
