HAPPY HALLOWEEN, EVERYONE! (Except for one -YOU know who you are.)
Been watching the Halloween weather reports. Looks like it will be pretty cold, windy and wet for many of you.
That's lousy weather for Trick-or-Treaters - but it's great weather for turning off the electricity and telling scary stories by candlelight.
"You know, it was a night just like this about fifteen years ago when it happened..."
Happy Halloween to all (I'm still without a computer at home and have to snatch a few minutes here and there) .. It's pouring here and they predict a very windy afternoon and evening .. poor kids .. :(
The weather is certainly a bummer.

:(
Happy Halloween all! Looks like our area will get lucky and any heavy rain will have moved out by 5pm! For anyone getting hit with the severe stuff stay safe and hopefully there won't be any massive damage! I know some areas are already planning a Halloween "do over" on Friday!
I hope everyone has a fun Hallowe'en and gets just enough chills tonight.
Happy Halloween to you all! thrhrt
WHO YA' GONNA CALL?????? CALL Desslok!!! Outstanding Ghostbuster costume!!
Good luck with all your haunted yards, garages, living rooms & crypts- everyone! I'm exhausted already! And I'm thinking the storm will hit GA. long after the trick or treaters have gone. But we will drag it all back into our garage tonight and dream of next year's haunt.
Happy Halloween to all!
HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYONE!!!!
Happy halloween to all my monster friends.

Happy Halloween all I hope everyone has great day. >:D
WE TV Channel is showing Halloween episodes from various series today.
Right now they are showing all the Rosanne Halloween episodes. That will be followed by 2 Halloween episodes from Will & Grace.
Happy Halloween to all! I am on call tonight so I won't be going anywhere. It is raining here so I don't expect too many trick or treaters. The mall is doing trick or treating now. I am sure that is where they will go. I plan on watching some Halloween episodes on ME TV and my wife is out taking our foster grandaughter trick or treating in the mall so I guess I will do a little work on my website while I have some free time. Have fun everyone!
A soggy, cool evening in store for Kansas! Rain just left the area! Happy Halloween friends!
Well, my family decided to have a halloween party just for a few of us. I first decided on Mr. Hyde, then my daughter insisted I be Frankenstein, my wife was the purple phantom, and my daughter a punkin. We had pizza, candy for the kids, and the first annual Madd family marshmallow punkin chunkin catapult match. My Nephew won, my daughter close behind, my niece last.
Here it is almost 730 PST and not a single Trick or Treater, looked out in the street , nothing. Warm day today too, its official we are an "old" street LOL
I had 6 trick-or-treaters. Three sisters one time, a girl and her mother the next, and my two granddaughters the third.
All is not lost, we had one little guy with cute mom witch and then a pack of 10 or so :)
10:15pm here.....all hope is lost.....16th Halloween with not a single trick-or-treater.......oh well.....all the Snicker Bars are mine! Again.... Ha!
Had our usual 60-70 kids. Everythings taken down now and tomorrow I'll begin the process of putting it away until next year!
We had 100 kids by 7:30...and then it slowed down because of the impending rain. We had everything back in the garage by 10:00- the earliest we have ever been finished! Wooo-yeah! All together we probably had 150-170 trick or treaters- LOTS of zombies this year! I also noticed that a lot of the teens/pre teens (I can't really tell how old anyone is anymore), had REALLY great make up jobs! I think this whole cosplay & Face-Off phenomena has really inspired a lot of kids!! Which is AWESOME!
No love tonight from Trick or Treaters due to heavy rains and strong winds. :(
Well, I bet I had a Halloween like none of you had! Spent it in a genuine hospital psychiatric ward! Not much fun, but interesting...well, not really, since I was being discharged and didn't have to participate in any of the therapy sessions.

Didn't you leave the torch burning outside your cave?
You have to let them know you're home.

Good thing you didn't tell them you belong to this group - you would
never have gotten out.
Happy Halloween Homecoming!
I had 65 trick-or-treaters. About 10 less than last year.
My last two were an older sister, younger brother team that looked awfully familiar. I asked them hadn't they been here already. They answered in unison: Her - "No", Him - "Yeah." The girl shot a look of disapproval at her brother and he looked down at his feet.
When I mentioned the disparity between their answers, the girl quickly covered with "Not this year, we came last year." Without looking up, the boy nodded agreement.
I told them it was very late and I had a lot of candy and I didn't want to have a lot left over. I gave them two bags each. I give out full-sized brown lunch bags filled half with toys and half with candy. (I'm very popular one day a year.)
Shortly after they left, I went out side. Off in the distance, I saw them walking away, casting guilty looks back over their shoulders - like they expected me to wise-up and run after them.
I hope they still think they fooled me. It's important for kids to feel like they get away with something on Halloween.
I want to go to Adam's house next year on Halloween .... ;D
We had 46 or so kids, the norm is between 28 and 48, so it was a good turn out. I had to stay in the basement to keep the cats calm, one wanted to greet the kids but we don't want any cats out on Halloween. The windy weather started overnight and I took down the webs and tapes around 6:30 this morning but will keep the window clings up over the weekend.
No fair! You guys and gals need to share your tricks-or-treaters!

There are some neighborhood kids (and parents) that I'd love to send you but I'd rather show up on your doorstep next year myself .. I'll be the witch with the cats.
Btw ~ I'd rather have Hershey's Kisses (I haven't seen any for Halloween) or Nestle's Crunch bars than Snickers.

Wow! Not surprising. You are awesome!
What kind of toys do you put in the bag? Do you have a source for bulk purchases of plastic dinosaurs, jungle animals and soldiers or something?

Not only are you generous, but you're wise and insightful as well!
:)
We also had rain come in- which made us dash madly outside & retrieve all the electronic props! (there were only 3). After the rain we only had a few stragglers. Total- 165 trick or treaters. We made 185 treat bags, but we gave 2 bags to the little kids that braved the rain! And we managed to take all the decorations in without getting soaked to the bone! Ahhhhhh.....it's over for now!
We had well over 100 again this year. I thought it might be less, but the hordes came out. We gave out cool little store-bought goodies that had plastic fangs and watermelon-flavored "blood" packets in them.
A handful of friends and fiends dropped by and hung out for a while. Later ended up the evening by half-watching a couple of movies I'd started earlier -- The Mummy (w/ Karloff) and House on Haunted Hill.
No trick or treaters, but at the last minute, I found out the Church across the street from my house, was having a Halloween Organ concert. The Church is already a great gothic building, but it was decorated for Halloween, and they concluded the concert with a beautifully rendered version of the "Munsters" theme.

A lot of Oriental Trading stuff. Wind-up toys, paddle balls, bubble blowing juice, folding fans, finger puppets, flashlights, coloring/activity books with crayons, Pez dispensers, etc. All of it is Halloween themed.
I want them to have things to play with after the candy is all gone. But I also want it to remind them of Halloween and the fun they had that night. I like to give out noise-makers like whistles and bells. The next couple of days I sometimes hear whistles off in the distance and think there goes one of my kids.
After about a week the noises stop. Either the kids have tired of the novelty - or the parents have reached their wit's end. (Heh, heh.)
Sometimes I wish I could go back in time for just one Halloween and be little again. Not possible. But I have my memories. Now I try my best to help today's little ones make their memories.
Today, even though I stay home on Halloween, I have much more fun than the kids.

You're a helluva guy, Adam. The novelty may wear off for those kids now, but the memories will last a lifetime! :)

All ages are welcome at my house.
I don't care if you are using a walker. If you have a costume on, even if it is just a silly hat and towel tied round your neck to simulate a cape, you get treats.
I make sure to give treats to the teenagers that show up with no costume at all. I can see the embarrassment behind the deliberately blank expressions. They
so want to continue trick-or-treating, but are at that age where they would feel mortified to be caught wearing a costume by their friends.
I hope when they get older, they get over that feeling and start openly enjoying Halloween again.
Take 5 bar, the one with the caramel and chocolate covered pretzel!!

I like your style, MFS. That's where it's at for me, too. Some spooky decorations, but not too spooky for the little ones. And making little goodie bags to make it a little more special. Right on. Keeping it fun and spooky for the future Halloween fans. Until next year...

My rates start at one hundred dollars a reading but come with a cup (or two) of the best hot chocolate with whipped cream that you'll ever drink.
