The first three Robocop films were childhood favorites and are still favorites of mine. This remake looks like crap; every remake nowadays is crap.

The bike looks cool.

They will make PLENTY of money off model kits and toys. Bring it on.

Will there be any toys? We didn't get any "Star Trek Into Darkness" toys. Barely saw any "The Hobbit" stuff. Even "Man of Steel" seems to be gathering dust.

You have a very good point. I noted the original Robocop movie spawned at least 2 model kits, Robocop and the ED-209, so hoping for more this time around. 'Gotta love the funny classic ED-209 scene!

This trailer of the Robocop remake looks like very interesting film to watch, however I rather not support idea of the remakes anymore. So I'll rather step back and wait for used dvd copy to fall into yard sales and goodwill so I can get it for a dollar and see what I think about it.

However I don't think I'll ever brother to watch it all since I feel that original Robocop is seriously enough and works better because it takes place in 80's made in 80's for very good reasons. It was a film of its time, taking it out of its own era and remaking it is going to lose something what it makes it great in first place. Today and 80's are not the same at all anymore, 80's were sometimes campy and little bit of realism such bloody violence thrown together is what it makes old Robocop much more fun to watch because of its 80's satire camp. Original Robocop is very unique right now when comparing it to other today's action movies. So yeah It's possible that Remake will fall flat by looks of the trailer, it doesn't look little bit campy at all and satire is not there.

Now today's film is lacking camp fun because of today's correctness known as PC and soccer moms.

Actually, the original "Robocop" (1987) was set in the "near future"; probably about ten years, so, 1997, let's say. The remake is set in 2028. That was always one of the things that made it appealing, its take on what the future would be like. Who could have ever imagined in 1987 that the future for Detroit would actually be bleaker than the films portrayed it? ???
