NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!
I didn't see the first one .. so the sequels doesn't scare me. Any time a film is a 'blockbuster' you can sort of expect a sequel or two or three .. Oh well.
As much as I dispised Avatar (what a competent, run of the mill, middle of the road, average picture.), the idea of a sequel intrigues me. My biggest problem with the film is that while it looked nice, it was completely unoriginal story wise. The sequels aren't going to recycle the same story (hopefully), so we might see something more clever, fresh, and original this time around.
The dialogue was enough to get me to tune out.
Just wondering . . .
What will the sequels be called?
Dances With Aliens?
Ferngully in Space?
Avatar Part Deux?
Which sequel will feature a tall blue Jar Jar Binks?
Are any of the following signed up to star in the sequels?
Tom Cruise?
Johnny Depp (with or without dead Ikran on his head)?
Ashton Kutcher?
Keanu Reeves?
And if the first sequel flops, will Cameron be able to leave well enough alone?
If I think about it .. why not call the sequels ..
Am I Blue?
I AM Blue!
Blue like ME
;)
More Cameron pablum for the asses.........OOPS,I mean masses.

Now I've got this song running through my head . . .
Am I Blue? (Billie Holiday) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FJ5q1z9xB0g#ws)
Could have been worse: Could have been this one. 8)
The Marcels - Blue Moon (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v0fy1HeJv80#)
This is what I was thinking ...
Hoagy Carmichael - Am I Blue - To Have And To Have Not.mp4 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TxTn9w9r3MM#)
Oh Yeah! 8)
Isn't this the same flick that was "responsible" for some people going into a depression? Because they wanted so much to be a part of that world or something?
I am so glad I didn't pay to see it on the big screen!
I once heard DANCES WITH WOLVES described as a "hippie western" ;D.

Well, I did get a little sad when I realized Lauren Bacall was never going to tell me to give her a whistle . . .
Oh, you mean
Avatar!
Yeah, some people seriously in need of a life were whining about how
Avatar was so much more beautiful than their crappy existence. :P
Avatar' depression syndrome?People are reporting 'suicidal' feelings after seeing 'Avatar' because they miss the beauty of its hyper-realistic world.

I felt something akin to depression when I went to see it. Much of what I felt was Nausea caused by trying to watch a 3-D movie--stupid plastic glasses and prescription trifocals do not go together. Most of my emotional downer stemmed from the fact I had just blown a small fortune and an evening of my remaining life watching a "Hippie Western" set in space.
There were so many thematic similarities to
Dances With Wolves --emotionally crippled war hero goes native instead of helping to conquer the noble "savages"--that I almost expected a cameo appearance by Kevin Costner. ::)
The nausea I got was from the inane dialogue and the ten foot Smurfs.

Can I just start hating James Cameron with a Keanu Reeves/Star Wars type zeal now??

Really??? What took you so long?
Gods, it's nice to see I wasn't the only one who hated "Avatar". The stereotypical characters, insipid dialog and lousy acting, yet the film made millions. I truly thought I was the only one who despised this film.

Oh, I've hated him since he defecated on one of my favorite films of all time..........King Kong. Even before, with the nausea-inducing "Titanic". But it takes some time to raise the hatred to the level of Keanu and Star Wars.
I thought they already made two of the sequals, where Jonathan Winters played Papa Smurf.

I don't think anything will get to Star Wars level hatred for me (maybe the idea of getting married again).

We'll then you're not going to like Disney's next planned sequel, Where Keannu Reeves will play the revived Emperer Palpatine.
