It was, and boy did we need it! We had a great time. The movies were pristine 35mm prints, not digital. Saw THE BLOB and TARANTULA!, as the Saturday night double feature. Nothing better than seeing an old film in a classic theater with an appreciative audience.
Sounds completely gelatinous -- hope you'll post pictures of the run-out!
The 70s version of The Blob really scared me at the age of 7 or 8. The McQueen version never was scary...but great cast.
I remember watching "The Blob" on television as a little girl and the thing that stands out in my mind is that they had spotlights on cars.
I saw 'Tarantula" on television around ten years ago. I wish that I could catch a cool double header in a classic movie theater.
The trailer which aired at the time of its release freaked me out (I was like five or something). The scene with Olin Howlin getting his hand gobbled by the Blob and the voice-over: "This is what will happen to YOU if you touch THE BLOB!". The closest I can get to the Blob Fest is owning the Criterion blu-ray. ;D
