I know there's a few old threads about this guy, but from what I remember, it was kind of a big deal so I'm gonna start another one. I got this recently and I don't mind sharing pics of it. ;) The blister was included, but fortunately it was only stapled on so I felt no guilt about carefully removing it to get a better pic. No figure, though. It came with a loose AHI Frankenstein.. :(

Very cool Dave, even without the blister.
Hey great score Dave!!
Woah, was that on ebay? Yikes! Where did that come from? That is a fabulous find, even in that condition. I hope you don't have any intention of throwing away the bubble. Even if it's cracked up, keep the bubble.
Did this come from the United States? If so, it would all but dispel the idea that the second series Tomland monsters were only sold in the UK.
So I have a Mummy with no card, and you have a card with no Mummy. I think we need to bump into each other like two people in an old Reese's Peanut Butter Cups commercial.
In fact, seeing as there are so few of these Tomland Mummies in existence (two that anyone knows about), I have to wonder if that could be the very same card that originally held my Mummy! It's possible! You can't prove it ain't so!
Here is my Tomland Mummy on a repro card. I think I did a pretty good job of reproducing the artwork without the benefit of a good, clear picture like we now have thanks to Dave.
Oooh, that looks familiar! I think I remember sleeping on that cardboard...long ago...
Actually, this came from neither the US nor the the UK, but instead from Argentina. And while that doesn't prove it's not the card that housed your figure, I think it makes it less likely. ;)
I could have sworn that your repro card had some pyramids in the background, which I actually think I prefer to the actual image.
I can't remember. I do know there was a Wolf Man auction, but have we seen the Frankenstein and Dracula?
I've seen a pic somewhere of the Frankenstein, but I don't think anyone has ever found a Dracula yet.
George
Wow! The card back images are great. I remember my mini Tomland monsters were carded when I got them as a kid,
and this looks familiar! Great find Dave!

Nekro my friend, you are a true monster kid. Your readiness and willingness to share has not gone unnoticed I hope. Certainly not by me. The only reason it was a big deal, was because somebody was trying to make it a big deal. And for what I'll never know?
Anyways, the figure and/or the card .. that's the real deal. And you scored big time! Congrats and salute! Well done on all levels.

NekroDave-- thanks so much for posting that. You are awesome. The Argentina thing is intriguing. If they were sold down there, that is a whole 'nother collecting avenue to trace them to. We need to get Brian Heiler of Foreign Mego to use some of his S. American contacts to look into his.
Regardng the Tomland Frankenstein: saw one up close when Mark Huckabone had one. It has a red shirt. Black pants and jacket. But to my memory, the head does not much resemble the image on the back of the card. Interesting that the image on the card back so closely resembles the Lincoln Frankenstein.
Again, thanks!
Matt
Man, he does look like the Lincoln Frankie. I love the illo of the Wolfman – very beatnik! This does make the 8inch phantom look unlikely, unless there was a third series.
This has got me to wondering about the mini-monster. I had the Skeleton, Mummy and Wolfman and I think the Dracula. I've seen the Yeti, Frank and Phantom. I wonder if there was an eighth figure? I had the small starroid raiders figure with a glowing fly head (Dado). I wonder if they made a mini-fly?

There was a Frankenstein on ebay years ago. As far as anyone in online collecting circles knows, an 8-inch Dracula has never surfaced. Obviously, it exists, but one has never popped up on ebay or in any known collections.

Until we actually see one, can we really be certain that it exists? Perhaps it never made it to the production line? Ya never know.
Well, it's not like it really matters, anyway!
Huh? Why not? To me it's right up there with the seven wonders of the world.
I have psychomotrized the whereabouts of the Tomland Dracula. My friends, there are exactly 17 on this small, fragile, blue sphere.
Six of them are in an unopened shipping carton of 24 Tomland glow monsters, sitting in a dank, dingy warehouse in Argentina. It is a sad, lonely place, populated by sad, lonely people, trudging through the monotony of their miserable lives.
One of them is lying at the bottom of a toy chest in the basement of a Brazilian home, located in the east quadrant of an affluent suburb.
Another is lying atop a stack of old books in the attic of a 50-year-old house in Argentina. The owner is dying of cancer. It is a sad house. Pity the poor souls who inhabit that dwelling.
Four of them are in an opened shipping case in England, forgotten in the attic of a former Tomland salesman. His memories of selling toys to bring happiness to children are fading into oblivion, for he has Alzheimer's.
One is lying beneath a bed in an English home. The child died in 1983. The parents preserved his room all these years, leaving his playthings just as he left them, all those many years ago.
Two of them are in another UK home. One is standing on a dresser. The other is in a drawer. The owner of the house has a brother. When they were young, they had to have two of everything. What one had, the other demanded. So they each had a Dracula. The one on the dresser belongs to the home owner. The one in the drawer is his brother's.
One is in a small box in a plane, flying over the Atlantic, on its way to a new owner. Its destiny is unknown.
The final one is in an acrylic case in the bedroom of a North American collector. He appears to be on the west coast, perhaps California. His house is filled with memorabilia. He thinks he has a Lincoln Dracula. He does not realize he has something much rarer. He is a happy man, happiest when he is in the warm embrace of another man.
That is the present, my friends. And the future. And the past. For the future, present and past are one. God help all of us, in the future.
Here is a roundup of all the Tomland glow monsters that have been sighted thus far. I think most of these images are from ebay.

I don't seem to have the mini Phantom on my computer. He's not in the UMA gallery, either. Somebody throw him up here.
Oh man, that's brought back painful memories of a young idiot in 1991; The idiot was in art college, it was Halloween. There was a big party, they needed a Halloween sculpture. The idiot made the Halloween sculpture; fashioned from welded junk it took the form of Baron Samedi – the voodoo Gede. When the sculpture was finished, the idiot thought 'it needs plastic skeletons, lots of plastic skeletons'; so the idiot hit the pound shops and bought plastic skeletons. They were not enough, the idiot remembered his Tomland monster toys. The idiot proceeded to nail his Tomland skeleton to the sculpture and there it stayed. The sculpture is long gone, and the idiot was me. :'(

Wow. Your ability to channel the whereabouts of a toy is nothing short of amazing. You are a modern day Criswell. I will begin following up on all of these leads of yours. That is with the exception of the fellow in CA. who is happiest when he is in the warm embrace of another man. Homey don't play that game. Not even for a Tomland Dracula ;)

LOL! :D :D :D
Now that's funny! Very funny!
:D PRICELESS!
Not that there's anything wrong with it. ;D
Thanks for the kind words guys, but really, I just got lucky and found it. Posting it is a no-brainer to me. I mean, how can I not share it, when as work gets slower these days, I'm spending my spare time finally assembling Phoenix Candy boxes from this very group!? I still consider myself a relative newbie here, but if I have something to give back, I'd be a real jerk not to.
Well, thank you for doing that! It's what UMA is all about.
PM me and tell me what ever happened with Henrique, the Argus, the poster, etc.
I only counted the Draculas that are potentially accessible. There are another 2,000 in landfills.

I wonder if they looked anything like this?
I have photoshopped the mini-Tomland Dracula onto my UK Lincoln (The heads are almost identical) and they seemed very derivative of the Lincoln's.
The Tomland Wolfman hands have gone on, judging by the Mummy and Frank - the Dracula would have had normal hands, but when it comes to Tomland, who knows?
I have given him the red Frankie top.
Whatever we are expecting, it will probably turn out to be quite different. The Wolf Man certainly didn't look like what I expected.

This is very true with Tomland! The Dracula probably looks nothing like the rest of them.
The mini wolfman, mummy and yeti do look kinda similar to their big brothers, and the Frank has the same, weird bolt positioning. I wonder if one will ever show up?
Quite an odd thing is that I never saw these in shops, I remember a brief period of the mini monsters being about, I remember the Starroid raiders, FMOL first series/non-glow, the Lincoln's, the Remco monsters, large, small and the puppets at home and even old stock AHI's (and I was 8 in 1980) but I never saw the Tomland glow monster range.
My favourite cheap toyshop when I was a kid was heaped to the rafters with Tomland stuff. These guys must have been super rare, even here in the UK. Does anybody know what happened to Tomland? when did they go bust?
The card is back, and it has a Mummy on it! Frankenkid is selling it with a loose Mummy (stated in the description).

With several bids and up to $1500, I don't think this is outing any "hidden" auctions.

Knowing the seller, I doubt it highly. This is as real as it gets.
I meant the photo above my post, not the toy on auction.
