Title: Sid Haig on Get Smart
Post by: Jethro on April 07, 2013, 10:35:30 PM
Was watching "Get Smart" on METV last nite and Max was talking with a man who appeared to be in charge of a museum and when he spoke, I said "that sounds like Capt. Spaulding."
Got a good look and sure enuff it was a thinner Sid Haig wearing a red fez and tan uniform.  The credits confirmed it. Didn't know he did bit parts.  The episode was from 1970.

I had the pleasure of meeting Sid yesterday at Days of the Dead in L.A. and he was a crack-up -- he glared at me eye to eye and said in a very serious (and evil) tone, "Hey man, what's the matter, don't you like clowns??" Then he wrote that for me on a colorful photo of Capt. Spaulding -- one of those unforgettable monstrous moments!

I think he did one more part, the assistant to Tom Posten evil scientist Dr. Zharko in season 4  "Shock It to Me".

That's great! I got the chance to meet to Sid Haig as well at Horrorhound Weekend in late-March. I got a picture with him as well as an autograph picture (the picture featured his character from the film, Coffy), which was awesome.
