Hello friends,
Do you have a sideshow King Kong armature
In mint condition for sale? If you do pm me lets talk!!
Yeah I want one of these as well. This is a piece that goes on my bucket list, I would LOVE to own one before I die, please!!! :)
King Kong 1933 is my favorite movie of all time. I watch it every halloween, and also on thanksgiving day.
The last time I saw one of these for sale they were still 500 bucks and more. I believe these were done by Bob Burns, who has the original.
I think if I could just TOUCH the original I would pass out from sheer love of it.
i missed this kong armature when it came out but for me i would
rather have a mighty joe young armature being a big RH fan
but ether one would be nice!!

agreed I love Ray Harryhausen stuff, and from what I read they actually took apart one of the two original Kongs and made Joe out of those pieces. The fact it can be associated with both Kong and Mighty Joe just makes it even better huh?
you bet, there was talk a few years back they were going to make a mjy armature
i know ray last year was gifted one of them it was great but the guy who made him
for some reason has not made anymore what a shame!!
I know. I just don't understand the lack of desire to replicate these, it's not as if the market has been saturated with em.
I'd be willing to part with good money for one. We should create a movement , ha. :)

no sir I am not, I am actually a southern born man.
I would love to talk to you more but I wont be around very long, because of ignorant hateful children who hate what I like, and will ban me cause they cannot allow it on their petty little board. they are not MAN enough to discuss anything instead they choose to be f&*%ing nazis about it, thus proving my point that anyone who hates Ray Ferry and all he does are stupid petty children with a vendetta bigger than their cocks, and brains.
I did appreciate the chat guys, and I hope you learn from my banishment that this messageboard is run by complete douchebags.
have a good day.

Meanwhile, back on topic.
Here is a great shot of Forrest J. Ackerman with the ORIGINAL Kong armanture in the foreground. The Kong armature is preserved by another genre godfather...Bob Burns.

So, who here actually owns one of the Sideshow reproductions? What number do you have? Got any pictures to share of you with yours?

Just read this thread and what just happened? Lol
That mighty Joe armature goes for a hefty sum. I think the guy wants around 11k for it. It's a repro of the original. Beautiful piece, but a bit pricey.
Good luck on your search. It's a beautiful piece.
Sal
wow 11k looks like thats off my wants list :'(
still maybe the kong armature is still in reach just!!!
11K??? Wow............that's an arm and a leg-ature.
Here is the link to the Mighty Joe Armatuer on another forum. His website is down but I remember looking up the price as I wanted it for my collection. Gorgeous piece, out of my price range...

Jim Davidson did a replica Kong Stop Motion piece. I cannot recommend this piece enough as it sits alongside my Kong Armature from Sideshow. Check out his website, he's really a nice guy and great to work with. The piece is a bit pricey, but well worth it considering all the work that is involved.

Maybe it's just me, but I can't find anything for sale on that site Sal. Terrible layout if you're actually trying to sell something.
Hey Scatter, you have to sign in and be a member to look at the classifieds. On the site, it's labeled the Junk Yard.
Sal
This thread just went crazy. Is it me or did it seem like that guy was a member before and got banned?lol!

Sal
That Kong replica is absolutely stunning. One of the best collectibles I have laid eyes upon!!
sal,
do you have any pics of your kong armature?
you know we love them here ;D
It looks like its going to be a long wait !!
I am normally away a lot working. I'll take a pic sometime soon when I can.
Sal
Sounds good sal, be nice to see one up close
Until I get my own? Well maybe!!
Are they worth the asking price now
It seems a lot for a few nuts & bolts
I had a chance of owning one a few weeks ago,
Price $2,600 now that's just plain crazy!!
You could get a real, working metal armature for that kind of dough.
Your right there,makes you wonder
Who they are trying to sell it to
There is always one willing to buy it
For a crazy price like that ands its not me!!
$2600 for..???? The sideshow piece?
Sal
You bet, I mean I like the piece as you know sal,
But you have to draw the line somewhere!!
Still searching!!
Some people say that's the best thing about collecting
Is the search and find part of it and I think that's true!!
Hey , I have one I would sell. I am in Canada.

You should put a notice on the "wanted to sell" page. Use photos, description, price, whatever you think will get people's attention.
