"Ridley Scott's Scott Free production concern is developing Dan Simmons' 2007 novel "The Terror" as a possible series for AMC.
The book, set in 1847, follows a naval expedition that runs into a bloodthirsty predator while trying to navigate the Arctic's Northwest Passage.
David Kajganich (the 2007 Body Snatchers remake "The Invasion") is scripting.
Scott, director of the recent big-screen hit "Prometheus," has been busy as well producing small-screen sci-fi like the recent miniseries remakes of "The Andromeda Strain" and "Coma."
AMC is looking for its next "Walking Dead"; the zombie drama is the top-rated hourlong on TV."

ZH. Is the TERROR a amalagamation of : It! The Terror Beyond Space and The Thing (Who goes There?)?
Sounds like it might be fun. I'll keep my eyes open for it.
Well that took a long time. I don't even remember creating this thread, I just happened across something about this show and wondered if any mention had been made of it here. So has anyone checked it out? I read/watched a little about it and found that it is historical-fiction based on the Franklin Expedition and adding some Inuit mythology in the form of a monster stalking the explorers.
Great show, very atmospheric. It seems like half the actors are from HBO's Rome.
