I entered the MPC/Round2 and Monster Model Review glow head contest and won in my catagory. Funny thing was that I only had a week to do this kit. And the Mummy catagory had the most entries and the most contested. But it was an honor to come out on top!!!!

A well deserved win! Congratulations! And , once again, this shows how a skilled painter can bring out all the wonderful details in these older kits.

Awesome-- congrats!!!
Well we can all see why you won! That's a beautifully detailed Mummy! Awesome job, monster friend :)
Congrats!
Thanks for the kind word guys!!! I feel like Sally Fields at the oscars "You like me... You really like me!!!!" LOL
Anyhow, I really does mean a lot to me. In a modeling world where a lot of people have switched to air brushing their kits, that
an old school hand painter like me can at least compete with other really great artists out there. And of course thank you to the UMA
and it's members for their support and helping keep this art form alive!!!!

Congratulations! Yes, it's great whenever old-school techniques take the prize.
I'm hoping to do Wonderfest this year and try my chances there as well. What the heck.... you never know until you try.

When and where is the awards gala then? Will it be black tie only or semi-formal?
???
Thanks guys!!!! There was no glal just a box of stuff mailed to me and a nice letter from Round 2 thanking for entering and telling me that I hade won. I did receive copies of the re-issued Dark Shadows kits and a copy of Amazing Modeler mag as well. I do know that the judging was done by the guys at Round 2/MPC, Amazing Modeler mag, and Monster Model Review. I just thought it was funny that this Mummy head was something that I spent less time on than most kits and it won. I bought all 4 Glow Head kits at the same time and just ran with the one that struck me the most. I'll have to post photos of the other 3 kits sometime for you to check out as well.
