My latest customs, Dracula Prince of Darkness and The Mummy done Mego style. This is my first run at Mego style customs and while a lot more difficult than 12 inch figures I am very happy the way they came out. Each one is numbered and limited to 50. Full details can be seen at http://www.distinctivedummies.net/megostyle.html (http://www.distinctivedummies.net/megostyle.html)
Hoping to get some feedback from the Mego guys on here :)

Thanks Dan. all recieved and appreciated :)
Ordered my Dracula! How can I resist this, it almost isnt fair. I would have snagged Mummy too, but I have been out of work due to knee surgery. Am I to assume we will be offered a Curse Of The Werewolf?

Order recieved Type3Toys. Yes, a Curse of the Werewolf and Curse of Frankenstein should complete the first set sometime in March. I have big ideas for the Mego style range that will go far and beyond Hammer characters :)
They look great and I can't wait to see what the others will look like. Wish I could sculpt and paint like that. There's a slew of Hammer and other horror icons that need to be done. The mind boggles...

Those are absolutely AMAZING. The packaging really pops as well. As a huge Hammer fan, I might have to order these for my birthday (which is coming up fast). If I can only get one, I might go for the Mummy. I have a 12 inch Chris Lee Dracula already. I recently picked up a repro Mad Monster Castle and I don't have a Mummy for it yet. Truly fantastic work. I don't know how you do it.
Rod
These are without a doubt the best Mego-style figures available. The figures and the packaging are both first rate. Keep it up, my friend!
Wow! Those look outstanding. Their likeness its amazing.....and I love the card-art.
Wow! Mark me down for one of each!
Thanks for al the kind words on these folks. And big thanks to those who have purchased or intended to purchase. I am really happy on the response I am getting. There is something about the Mego figures that gives me a great feeling and in many ways I prefer them to my 12" customs, so much so that a new set of four are in the planning stage. They will be non Hammer but I think you will like what I ome up with :)
Congratulations, those are fantastic.
Extremely cool pieces!! Love 'em!
These are fantastic.
But, I have one question. I saw someone on the Megomuseum say you were using CTVT bodies. Is that true?

Yes I am. I believe that some folk have an aversion to this body. I have to cavort it into varios positions to bandage the Mummy and it returns to shape without any issue, so I am not quite sure what the issue could be. Jimm, THECTVT body is the base body and as I believe, it is not so popular amongst Mego customisers.

I was just curious.
I have no real idea about these things.
I just noticed that a lot of people over there hate that particular body for some reason.
How about Frankenstein & The Monster From Hell???
How's about some 30s and 40s figures?

Most definately. There may be a little 12" figure surprise at the end of this month too (as the bishop said to the actress)

YES!!! 12" are still my preferred size.
I would have killed for Mego Hammer figures when I was growing up. I'm still willing to spill blood for them as an adult. Really love these! Are they already being shipped?

Shipping is planned for the 18th of this month.. All is in place except the backers which are due from the printers around the 15th. I use a proffesional off set printing company so they will come out perfect :)

Thanks Richard, I try my best. Dr.Terror thanks on the cards, I actually pay a designer for those and an artist to draw the pictures on the reverse. Hooping they give off a retro feel.
Demons, order received and confirmation E-Mail sent
Thanks to all
I am so looking forward to this figure! Most of my bookshelves don't have the space to accommodate a 12" figure, so it'll be nice to have one that I can easily display.
Another thread here just gave me a thought! I'd LOVE to buy a custom MEGO-style Dr. Syn/ Scarecrow of Romney Marsh figure based on the Disney version of the character. That's a much beloved character that I don't think anybody has ever tackled before.
Although I'd prefer a 12" figure, a Mego-sized "Count Yorga: Vampire!" would be equally cool.
I would love to see DD tackle a 12" Colin Clive mad doctor to fit in with the Sideshow figures.

That would be sweet, especially since Universal doesn't seem to give two hoots about the character. :-[

I think this may happen very soon Count. Mord there is a distinctive possibility of Mr. Clive happening too :)
YYYYYEEEEEEESSSSSSSS!!!!!!! You guys did Universal's Psycho with no problem, this one should be a breeze (not to mention that you will be knighted by the UMA). We've all been waiting for this one, Sir Spock

Will get to it this year I hope Mord. Who knows, maybe a Dr. Pretorious too. A lot depends on the success of my next 12" figure which again is a missing link for many collectors :)
Yes, Mego Count Dracula is on his way to my house!

Pretorious is the one I really wanted but thought it was too much to ask for. They might make you the next Pope because of this. You guys are amazing!
Dracula's vampiric gaze compelled me to order him thrhrt, and I had to get the Mummy to WRAP UP the deal. ;) Seriously, these figures look absolutely awesome. Any idea when you will make available Oliver Reed from Curse Of The Werewolf and Chris from Curse Of Frankenstein?

Thanks for the order. All recieved and will ship Monday. Curse of the werewolf and Curse of Frankenstein, hopefully late April or early May
Doorbell rang and I was so excited, because I figured it was my Mego Dracula. It was just my sister. :(
But, she came over and helped me do a lot of cleaning in preparation for my mother coming home from physical rehab center tomorrow. So...
Spock, will you take into consideration relative scale to Sideshow figures? It would make no sense to have a Dr. Frankenstein figure that is taller than the monster.
An Edward van Sloan as Prof. Van Helsing could be easily tweaked into a Dr. Waldman figure. Just an observation.
Who is prof Van Gelding?

Mord, my bodies are about 1/2 inch shorter than Sideshows so although not perfect (I think an inch shorter is the right height) it will look smaller.
Actually, that's great. Sideshow used the same bodies for all their figures so a half inch shorter works just fine (except for Pretorious, who was very tall).
Sideshow eventually used smaller/taller bodies, depending upon the character, for their Star Wars 12" figures. Wouldn't be right to have Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker the same height, would it? Although, that's just what Kenner did, initially, in the mid-'90s. They eventually made a 14" Vader body. Then, in 2005, Hasbro goofed again by making a 12" General Grievous. It wasn't long after that happened that they subleased the sixth-scale toy license to Sideshow. Now, Hasbro is doing 12" figures again, (http://starwarscollector.com/hd-photo-gallery/movie-heroes/345-movie-heroes-12-inch-figures-2013.html) but they are godawful, cheap things, aimed at kids, not collectors.
Woah, just stumbled on this for the first time. Seriously amazing work, Spock! Too cool.
