Title: black light hanging cage
Post by: witch_hunter on January 13, 2013, 08:26:04 PM
i finally got around to painting my moebius monster scenes hanging cage.  i tried to just paint neon color highlights that really "pop out" under black light.  almost like an old dark ride.  it was kinda hard to take a photo of what it looks like in person, but here's what i got, let me know what you think!  the first pic is what it looks like under normal light...

thanks guys! it was a little tricky to paint, the uv paint dried so fast and dark that it was hard to tell what was already done.  i can't wait to go pick up a few more different kits to paint the same way!

Nice job!!  Couldn't you have painted it while the blacklight on?!  Even with a regular light on you should still be able to see the blacklight highlights, much like your 2nd picture.

thanks! that was actually my initial idea, but lack of an outlet near where i was working made it difficult.  i just went out and got an extension cord so i'll be able to bring the black light over to me next time.  hopefully that will make it easier.

I want a full sized one someday. I think they ought to use them to punish shoplifters.

i actually used some neon glow paint that i bought from spirit halloween when it was 50% off.  i wasn't sure how well it would work, but it turned out to work pretty good

here's a link to them:

http://www.spirithalloween.com/product/6-pack-neon-paint-set/?w=glow%20paint&UTM_campaign=Search:SC:glow%20paint (http://www.spirithalloween.com/product/6-pack-neon-paint-set/?w=glow%20paint&UTM_campaign=Search:SC:glow%20paint)

most of the glow paint i've seen online is always so expensive so i was glad that this gave a good effect, especially for the price

Gives it a look of the early 70's Fun House color schemes.
As I said before, I like to see your work on a "Monster Scenes" diorama.
