Here are some pics from last week of the snowfall we had. It's warmed up since and alot of the snow has melted and refroze making some lovely slippery spots!

Great pics. I live in the same area, so I know exactly what you mean. I'm glad it's warming up, and I hope it continues. Personally I hate the snow, but it makes for some great photos at least!
I just hope we don't get any more. Probably will, though. :P
I have to agree Big Bad-lived here all my life and I am no fan of snow, but it is pretty! Where do you live? I'm in Schroon Lake

I'm even further up North than you are! I live right near Plattsburgh actually.
I hate you both. I LOVE snow, and never get any. :(
RedKing- Those trees are big & huggable! I love the little pouches of snow in the boughs. I'm sure you'll have more snowy scenes to photograph- it's only January! :)
Scatter- You can have my portion of the snow! I grew up in Michigan, and I've had enough in my lifetime! :) I remember my socks getting wet & frozen on the way to school teehee
These are great shots. Wow...
How beautiful!\Glad you got to go!

I feel the same way.
But if I were snowed in a couple months out of the year and had to deal with muddy sleet, etc.... I would probably agree with them. Especially if I had to make my way to work and back five days a week.
I am retired and live in Southern California and love the rain - because we have so little of it.
One of those "grass is always greener" things, I guess.
RedKing owns his own woods. I love woods. Lucky RedKing, I hope you get fleas this summer. Pretty snow pics though.

Damn grass here is usually BROWN because I live in a FURNACE. BTW, I love SoCal.......and I'm willing to sleep on couches, porches, in cars, you name it. :D
I'll sleep in those woods!
You do that anyway!
And in the raw, too!
I adore snow-in pictures. In real life, I don't want to be anywhere near the stuff.

Exquisite! You live in a scenic paradise.

A shameful attitude for a monster lover!
:o
Glad you guys and ghouls like the pics! Mark, you are welcome to come haunt the woods here anytime-maybe even find some long lost Adirondack Sasquatch cousins!
I'm with Scatter, I'd like to experience a really good snowfall soon. The mountains to the east and west of here get snow, but blocks off any for the valley. STUPID VALLEY.
Between last year and so far this year, we haven't had much snow at all here. It's odd.
So the Adirondacks in winter are like Spokanistan - - except more scenic.
We've had a pretty lousy winter here. Maybe 10 inches total snowfall In November and December--and most of it melted off within a week.
Currently I have two inches of snow in my yard--and that had been there for about two weeks. And the temp range is 15-25 through the day, so the snow ain't going anywhere.
Just gloom, fog, overcast skies and frost.
Three years ago we had 78 inches--Now that was a winter.
We are supposed to be getting a snowstorm this Friday afternoon. 6- 10 inches. This morning was cold- the coldest it's been here since January of 2010. At 3:00 am it was 4 F when I looked at the thermometer.
Temps are currently in the single digits here on eastern Long Island...have a nice fire going in the wood burning stove, keeping the house comfortably warm. Once in a while i bundle up and go outside. There's something very cleansing about standing out in the cold night air, looking up at a moonlit, starry sky that just seems to go on forever.

Agreed! I am not a fan of winter at all.
There's nothing quite like being snowed in a cabin in the woods.
I had to look where those towns are...and I'm from upstate NY....
