Title: Uhm---Uh-oh, Oh- No, Repro --or a genuine rarity?
Post by: Anton Phibes on December 18, 2012, 11:01:04 PM
Anchor Hocking Glasses on soup mugs/coffee mugs? Legit vintage?   ....or repro images on new mugs? Opens a door for potential counterfeiting I am sure....if they arent vintage. But if they are_-first I have heard of them.

I have never seen nor heard of Anchor Hocking mugs. Only Anchor Hoching glasses. This concerns me. Now I wonder if one of my glasses are authentic?

Notice how the image has been squeezed down to fit the shorter mug size. Only an amateur would do that. Fake! (And probably not even being sold as vintage.)

It's a pretty cool item, I would not mind drinking my coffee out of one of those. Wish the graphic was not warped through...

Very cool idea, but yes they should have adjusted the image for the size. No collector will mistake them for vintage if they do their homework.

Since Dracula was not part of the original series, maybe a mug with Dracula could be created.

I agree. If they're sell well enough, why not Godzilla, King Kong etc.

The way the listing is worded would lead a novice collector to believe this Wolf Man cup is vintage. Even some of the experienced collectors in this thread are doing a double-take. I can tell it is a fantasy piece because of the Photoshop warping.

Yes, quite a nice fantasy piece.
