I just wanted to see how many George A. Romeo fans there are in UMAland? Any fans that like not-so-commercial
films of Romero.
I chose Night if the Living Dead. Creepshow was a close second.

While Fulci is an awesome director and beyond ( no pun intended), Romero is still the master.
Night of the Living Dead, but Dawn is a close second.
Dawn and Night hands down, but like Scorpio, I like Fulci's movies better. Fulci's zombies are much more horrifying and rotted looking-plus one fought a live tiger shark! Romero might have his subtexts and commentaries on consumerism, but Fucli went right for the juggler, pun intended!

Fulci did have an edge. For a few films.

I've always been a little disappointed that Romero's continued (and increasiningly) run for cover to make yet another living dead movie. It's typecast him as not just a horror director, but on e in a single sub-genre.
I respect that he didn't want to become part of the mainstream, but his early stuff like Jack's Wife and Martin show a real knack for character that's missing from the later work. His earlier work also shows that he's a great editor.
So many good movies he's made....Day of the Dead is probably my favorite, followed closely by Dawn of the Dead and Creepshow. Night of the Living Dead would be next....Then rounding out my favorites would be Martin.
Hmmmm. No fans for the film: The Crazies.
Creepshow is the perfect film for me and my short attention span. I like most of the movies on the Romero list. The Crazies started out really good, but I did not enjoy the second half of the movie.

The Crazies is an acquired taste.
Night of the Living Dead
I love the Living Dead trilogy. Dawn is my favorite but I like Day the more I watch it. I think Day of the Dead has the best special effects.

Day of the Dead, of all the Dead film does have the best special effects.

They're the most convincing. It looks like Savini actually ripped apart real human bodies for the movie!
