Just got back from seeing the Red Dawn Remake. First Thing this Movie is close to 4 Years Old, as it was put on Hold when MGM filed for Bankruptcy. The Movie is way better than the Original. The Action Starts in about 10 Minutes and Never Lets Up. Sure you can find plenty of things wrong with the movie, but if you want Entertainment, Action and pretty good story and acting go see it. 8/10
No way It's better than the 1984 film/ most reviews say It IS really crappy and does not live up to the 1984 action film/ I most likely won't watch
The trailers look awful. Generic action flick #5467. Based on my experiences with the trailers for Burton's "Dark Shadows" and "Werewolf: The Beast Among Us," if it waddles like a duck and quacks like a duck, then it must be a turkey!
I live in Michigan, and not too far from where they shot this movie. My degree is in film production, and I was doing a lot of acting and production work when Michigan had their film incentives in place (at the time, it was the most generous tax rebate in the country). I had some friends who were working on Red Dawn, and I would ask them how the shoot was going, and they just laughed and told me it was pretty terrible (especially the acting).
What really amazed me is that the action takes place on and around Spokane, Washington.
Yep--North Korean Troops Attack Spokanistan!!!
I'm thinking: I don't remember hearing about it being filmed around here.
How did I miss that?
Then the whole thing was filmed in Michigan?!?!?
Spokane has a very distinctive look, geographically and architecturally--including a river complete with waterfalls right downtown.
As Shakespeare put it: "What Ye Swyve?"
I'll probably see it just for laughs.
Fester....I know most of it was filmed in Michigan. They might have done some pick up shots elsewhere.

100% Spokane-Free movie about Spokane being invaded by North Korea.

Rounding that to $8.00-- that means 1,784,583 people saw the movie.

I'm guessing it will be in the WalMart $5 DVD bin in no time.
