I got a bad viris in my computer on Monday. Be careful. It goes in your computer and shuts down the firewall and turns your sercurity settings to low and then crams a bunch of viruses in the computer. It hijacks the browser and when you shut down and the next time you start it locks the computer and you can't even get to the desktop. I talked to a computer repair person and they agreed the virus going around hit on Monday. I somehow was lucky enough to get the computer to go to the recovery mode. The problem is that I could not get in the computer to back things up on a disk. I lost over half the pictures in my site file and the thing that stinks is I was working on revamping my Frankenstein section and I had some unusual lobby cards and now they are gone. Check your firewall settings to make sure this doesn't happen to you.

Sorry your puter got sick. Hope it's better now.
That's too bad, sorry that you lost those pics. It's happened to me, too.
Just the other day, I went through and 'disked' all my photos again. I try to do it every year or two. It takes awhile to do, but as shown here by Universal Steve, a virus or crash can cause real problems, esp. for pictures. I was installing a new security program and removing the old one, and I was afraid the new program could possibly cause a crash. Luckily, no problems!
Good idea, Bob. But I think from now on I will do a picture backup every six months. This stopped me from working on my site. The last back up I did was about 2 years ago and I am always adding pics to my file so when the time comes I get an idea on how to use them on my site.
