I'm not sure how a prequel would be - It could be interesting

I have read articles about a sequel to, The Shining book - It's called, Doctor Sleep and chronicles, Danny Torrance who works to euthanize elderly people at a nursing home using The Shining - There's more to it, but it's something about him travelling the highways of America searching for someone and trying to save them from a Tribe of ghosts -

I see it working out like this:
The Shining: Honeymoon Suite of Death
The Shining II: A Dark Outlook
The Shining Original film retitled The Shining III: There is Snow Hope
The Shining IV: The Outlook Strikes Back
The Shining V: The Revenge of Jack
The Shining VI: The Haunted Marriott Courtyard
Then maybe NBC can make it into a sitcom with an edge: REDRUM: Jack and Grady and Wendy and Danny All set in a haunted Motel 6 at the end of Mockingbird Lane.
So, looks like Christian Slater will finally get some work.

It could be interesting if done well and in a "American Horror Story style" little clips that lead to the deaths of some of the major ghost.
