Mads Mikkelsen is not a random actor. He was the superb villian of "Casino Royale." His star has been slowly rising over the last few years. The wife and I saw him in a move earlier this year called "The Hunt" in which he plays a schoolteacher wrongly accused of molestation. I also thought he was very good as Rochefort in the very mediocre version of "Three Musketeers."
I think he is a very good choice. My own pick would have been for Andrew Scott, who played Moriarty on the BBC's Sherlock.
The long and the short of it however is that this is an entirely unneccessary series. Is there a more over-exposed villian in all of film than Hannibal Lector? He has lost all interest for me. Maybe this series will change my mind, but I doubt it.
