I collect, or collected them till I got the set.  I think they are fantastic.   They aren't as easy to come by as the other Remco items so just don't hear much of them.  Also even though  they are over 30yrs old some folks don't consider them vintage monster toys?  IMO the Remoc stuf was the last true vintage monster toys before things later became "collectibles" and have to be screen accurate sacrificing fun in the process.   Although the early 90's had a boom of "fun" stuff. The style guide images took the fun away.

Like you i had 2 as a kid.   Drac and Frank.  I played with them all the time.    Wished they made a Phantom and Wolfman, and even worse the dolls are too $$ to remove the head and hands to make custom puppets.   I'd like to obe day at least make a wolfman puppet.

I think Remco made these becasue they had a stockpile of heads left with nothing to put them on.

Ya it's a cool toy. I played with it so much the plastic door broke off and my dad taped it back on. I remember wanting the others on the trip but my parents gave me the line "There maybe other stuff you want?" and wouldn't by them. Ya I've only been a member for a few weeks and seen talk about everything except for these. What are they worth any way? I thought about trying to track the rest down and maybe a good box for my creature. I guess I better find him first before i look for a box.lol!

I collect 'em, and while I do have all four carded and a loose Creature, I'd like to have loose examples of the others too. Everything UM Remco made (from '80 to '83) has a special place in my heart because of my age when I found 'me and just how much fun they are as toys. The Creatue puppet blew my mind, finding it on the close out racks at K-B Toys in Columbus, Georgia in 1983. I didn't know they'd released a 9 inch figure, so the head and hands on this left me dreaming for most for the rest of the decade until I was able to get a Creature from Toy Shop. Another fun fact of this line: Remco, as a company, was bought in 1974 after its early '70s bankruptcy. The company that bought it? Azrak Hamway International, commonly know to us as the company that made the first Universal Monsters action figures: AHI.

I collect the Monsters at home, I think they're really neat and if 30 plus years isn't vintage then I don't know what I'm doing.

The only one I need is the Creature, this is one of those lines that I don't buy on Ebay.

I wait until I drive to a comic show or toy expo and try to pick them up "live". It's like giving yourself a handicap and an easy out in case there are slim pickings at the show.

I always thought the name 'Monsters At Home' was funny for these. When did The Monster and The Creature start sleeping in coffins?

I think the Monster is the biggest stretch on the concept, I remember a friend asking me what his "coffin" was supposed to be. I had no answer.

The Creature sleeping in a sea chest is a distant second IMO.
