Dont have much time so Ill add more detailed pic's later. Got this kong bank today (the one in between the two renzi's). Same size and styling as the Frankenstein bank! As far as I know its the only one ever found thats molded in black and has painted face features. NekroDave has a yellow one which was previously thought to be the only one known. So here it is, the Black KONG bank.

I love how the Aurora kits influence made it into this bank. Thats one of the coolest and most charming Kong figures for sure! The fact it's the cast in blk version is icing on the cake. and IMO much better than the painted version. Makes me wish aurora did a Gigantic kong.
The stuff behind Kong is pretty cool also. ;)
Congrats, it's a beaut!
I like him more than the Frankenstein. I like the Franky, but this ape is more my style. Almost has a Sasquatch vibe. The face reminds me of the giant grinning Kong animatronic head used in the original movie. I wish we had this at Monsterpalooza, though it is probably too tall to fit in the display cases.
Wow! That Kong is magnificent! Congrats on that super rare score!!! What company made this and the Franky banks?
Fangtastic! I want that thing!

Man I wish I could go,havent been able to take a vacation for thethe last 5 years. Next year I will be there no matter what. You would be more than welcome to use it. I'd love to see It in the UMA display. I can try to take some better pictures if that would work for this year Ray?
No, pictures wouldn't work. I'd want the actual toy standing there.
Yeah, pictures Really wouldn't do it justice. This thing is beautiful.

his feet are a bit dirty, time to get out the Q-tips.
I LIKE THAT !!!!!
Holy flippin' hell...........that Kong is a magnificent beast!!
WOW. Is there a story about how you got it that you can share? Nice Kong.
It was on eBay, and it was in my home town, damnit.
Yes it was badly listed. Good thing I spend hours upon hours a day searching for mislisted items. It does pay off! This was by far the longest 5 day auction in my life! I had a pretty hefty bid at the end to win it and it came in far far far under that, to my relief!! only 1 other bidder and he tried 1click bumping it in the last few seconds. If he wouldn't have seen it I would have completely stolen it for $15! I really didn't mind in this instance though. Im just glad he wasn't as serious as I was. And yes DMG it came out of Portland,. I tried to ask the seller if he would consider a buy it now price when I found it but he said he didn't know enough about it and was going to let the auction ride. It is my absolute favorite piece in my collection and It came to me right after the renzi car auction. I was really looking forward to winning that but im glad I got this instead.
Well, I am glad you didn't end up paying more and it went into a fine collection, but I can't help but think I missed it at the antique show or flea market here for $20. Of course, I find it laughable that the seller could have walked into a store right in the middle of downtown and easily gotten double what you paid for it as a wholesale buy from a toy dealer (who would then probably have given me a call), but that's also what I like about eBay; I'm sure the seller made a large profit compared to what they paid for it, but they missed out on at least a grand due to their own unwillingness to educate themselves. It's why I love that eBay has not allowed easy access to sales records.
This should have been first, but thanks for sharing all the great photos! It really is a magnificent thing. Display that next to Mattel's version of the jumbo Godzilla (Shogun Warrior) and you've got a great scene.
Best,
sts
Thanks everybody! It is a special piece and I couldn't wait to share it here and let everyone see it. Its exiting to me when I see all the great stuff everyone posts here, and it feels good to be able to share my stuff with such cool people. Godzilla vs. Kong pics coming up next.
And if you have a Shogun Rodan he can be a stand in for the Pterodactyl Kong fought on Skull Island.
The side view reminds of the 8" Imperial KK.
