Can't wait for the show this year! It's gonna be a blast! We are really pumped that our Vault of Horrors gets to see the light for the first time at the show! We are hard at work on both setting up our new studio and workshop as well as getting some new additions ready to go! We are just about done with our new Karloff as the Mummy piece, and we're hard at work on our Nosferatu and the centerpiece of the display: our new Creature piece! That one is turning out to be HUGE! A number of the figures in the display move and/or feature audio and lighting effects, so it should be an awesome display! Hope to see some of you there!!!

The full shooting script for House of the Wolf Man, signed by him and the entire cast, including Ron Chaney and the late Michael R. Thomas (Count Dracula and Béla the Gypsy) and the late John P. McGarr (Barlow). I believe Eben told Ron Chaney there were only five of these in the whole world!

Absolutely beautiful full size models. It looks like our classic horror was even better represented than last year's! Was Creature Revenge Monster Studio there this year? They are based in South Carolina. Three young filmmakers/artists had a table in the Dealers Room last year. Sorry not to make it this time... I was invited to have a free table too. I was just too busy with book deadlines. Next year for certain.

Fantastic pictures!! That London After Midnight full size figure is brilliant! And the House on Haunted hill display is beyond cool!

Monster Kid, Creature Revenge was there in full force this year! Thanks for remembering us from last year! The Vault of Horrors exhibit was constructed and put on by us here at Creature Revenge. It was a blast to put together and to get to share it with everyone! We also got to set up right next to the Chaney family who are really amazing people! In addition to our normal booth and the Vault of Horrors exhibit we also did live sculpting and painting demos all weekend long. People seemed to really enjoy the Vault which we are already starting to update and make some new additions to for upcoming conventions this year! It was also a HUGE thrill getting to share it with the Chaney family and getting to hang out in it for a bit with Mr. Kirk Hammett of Metallica! We really had a blast this past weekend at Mad Monster Party. It was honestly one of my favorite conventions I've done in a long time! The people were all really cool and everyone had a great time!

John Moore, an actor & wrestling announcer from Hickory, NC, who many MMP2013 attendees might remember as the staff volunteer outside the VIP room, passed away tonight at 7 PM from a heart attack. He was kind, gracious, with a wickedly sharp sense of humor. He will be missed.

John as mad scientist Dr. Jakob Dunbar at the Horror Fields Halloween attraction in Sawmills, NC. A group of his MMP friends are planning a trip up there this coming Halloween in his memory. If interested, PM me for details.
Sadly, John Moore died without insurance, and his family are struggling to meet his funeral expenses. Non-profit charity Scares That Care! (scaresthatcare.org) is accepting donations in John's name that will go directly towards the cost of his funeral. Any amount will help, as Scares That Care! has already pledged a minimum donation of $500 (the cost of John's cremation).

Wow, by this time last year, we already had confirmation of the dates, the hotel, and even some guests for MMP2013. As of today, nothing for MMP2014. And, news about the sister con, MMPGras, has been pretty slow. Hope the MMP ball isn't losing momentum.

I'm actually REALLY hoping that they do it on different dates this year, if it's the same as the 2013 show I'm going to have to skip this years show since it's on the same weekend as the big Transworld show in St. Louis and 2014 will be the first year our company is setting up there with all of our props and animatronics... I REALLY don't want to miss MMP so I really hope they move the dates a bit!
I think something might be going on. Granted, I know they've got MMPGras in September, and they have monthly film screenings in LA. So, I know they're busy. Plus, putting out the magazine...which I've yet to see #3, although it's supposed to be up for sale on their site.
I know their were a lot of complaints about the hotel. Maybe they're trying to work out a different venue? The Blake Hotel has great convention facilities, but the hotel itself is pretty unimpressive. People had sewage backing up in their bathrooms, for crying out loud! I just hope they keep it in Charlotte.

I know when we were loading in and out through the areas behind the convention center that most of the public never sees, they were pretty crummy. The elevator door to the loading dock wouldn't even close on its own! You had to manually help the door close! I think it has seen better days. I know there have been some people taking issue with the fact as well that every year they keep booking it the exact same weekend as HorrorHound Weekend in Indiana, so people who would normally try to make it to both now have to choose between one or the other, and now with it Transworld potentially on the same weekend we may have to drop out with our Vault of Horrors exhibit too. A new venue and a new date would be great. We will be making it to MMPGras this year so I'll hopefully be able to talk to Eben about it while we're there is we haven't heard anything by then. I love having a great convention right in our backyard, I think it could just use a little tweaking!

Wish I could make it to New Orleans, but the situation with my mother makes it impossible. If they do change the date and/or venue, I hope they can keep it within reasonable driving distance of Charlotte. If they go to Raleigh or Winston-Salem, I'd have to pass.

I agree! I'm not a fan of driving to Raleigh and DEFINITELY not a fan of driving to Winston-Salem! I think Charlotte is a great home for it, but I'd much rather see it in like the convention center or something!
Just saw on Facebook in Friends of Mad Monster Party that the official announcement will be made next week, but the show will be March 21-23 in Charlotte, but not at the Blake Hotel. Sorry you won't be there with the Vault of Horrors. That's also the same weekend as Resintopia in NJ.
