Hey, I was just reading the toys thread about the Bigfoot/ Yeti Action Figure and I see where some folks have preferred 'looks' for their Sasquatch-types... SOOOOO.... I dedicated this thread to Sasquatch-types imagery. Post yer pics!

His fingers are kinda vampire batty and his feet aren't really that big... but the body is 'haired' pretty decently. I like it.
I think this is the 'messing with Bigfoot' character. I always liked this look.

Great thread, btw - and long overdue! I'll have to get to posting some of my own.

Great thread idea! I need to dig through my old photos. I used to go camping and hiking up in Northern California a lot and we'd stop in at all the Bigfoot souvenir stands and attractions. Unitl I can go through the old pics, I only have a few things to share.
Here's a mug I picked up.
About 4" tall BF statue. This might be about 20 years old. It has a chip or two but otherwise in pretty good shape.
The Bigfoot or Oh Mah statue in Willow Creek, CA. Looked like he had bangs. Sorta like the Golem.
I'd like to go to Willow Creek someday and see the Bigfoot tourist traps. I'd also like to visit Fouke, Arkansas and see what's there.
I have a pretty decent collection of original Bigfoot movie posters (no darn repops).
My favorite Bigfoot poster, and one of my favorite movie posters in general, is Shriek of the Mutilated. I watched this movie on late night TV in the late 1970s, sitting up in bed, clutching my Animal Fair stuffed Bigfoot. I thought it would give me extra protection if I watched the movie with a friendly Bigfoot. My stuffed Bigfoot was more scared than I was. Anyway, here is the poster.
And this is my favorite Bigfoot movie image, the poster for The Legend of Bigfoot. This art captures my idea of Bigfoot.
This is probably my favorite 70s Bigfoot movie. The Mysterious Monsters. The Bigfoots in this film are my favorite cinematic Bigfoots.
The most iconic and influential Bigfoot movie of all time, The Legend of Boggy Creek. I did not see this movie until I was an adult. So here I was this freaky Bigfoot monster kid in the 70s, and I did not even see the most famous Bigfoot movie until 20 years later. But I finally got around to it. Rented it on VHS from a grocery store, back when renting movies was still a thrilling novelty.
The only 70s Bigfoot movie to actually be called "Bigfoot." To this day, I have never seen this film. I have the trailer on 35mm film, but I've never watched it. Don't have a 35mm projector handy. It's probably on YouTube. One of these days I will see this film.
Sasquatch. I saw this film in the theater. Seemed pretty cool at the time. I particularly like the music for this film. I have a few mp3 files I downloaded from a website. They were recorded off a noisy vinyl record. I wish the soundtrack would be properly released using the original tapes.
Now I said there were no repops. This might be an exception. I suspect this poster is a reprint. For that reason, I recently purchased another copy of unimpeachable provenance from a reputable movie poster dealer. I have not compared them yet. It will be interesting to see if I can spot any differences. Perhaps this poster will turn out to be legit after all. If it turns out to be a fake, I will probably want it out of the house!
Probably the best 70s Bigfoot movie in terms of story, direction and acting: Creature from Black Lake. It has cinematography by Dean Cundey and performances by Jack Elam and Dennis Fimple. I wanted to see this at the theater, but my parents wouldn't take me. So I saw it a year or two later on the CBS Late Movie after an episode of the Night Stalker one Friday night.

That's enough Bigfoot for now.
You can never have enough Bigfoot.

A great thread this is. I love all things Bigfoot. I love the Patterson film of the guy walking into the woods, although that is a more or less confirmed fake at this point. Legend of Boggy Creek and Creature from Black Lake are really wonderful films!

Huh-uh-huh-huh - You said U
P :D...
Sean,
That Yeti at Animal Kingdom USED TO take a swipe at you. It broke a long, long time ago, and since Animal Kingdom is open every day and "Expedition Everest" is its most popular attraction, Disney doesn't want to close the ride down long enough to fix it. Engineers say it would take as long as six months due the weight of the figure, which is built on its own foundation, and the complexity of the animation. It's now known affectionally to theme park fans as "The Disco Yeti," because Disney's solution to its immobility was to set up a strobe light by the figure to give it the appearance of movement.

Wow, Rod... that's messed up-----because I swear it was still swiping last Fall. The strobe effects PLUS my memory of seeing a video of it when it was still functioning properly must be creating the desired 'illusion'. 8)

I would be like the runt of the litter! I have to shop in Big & Tall for certain things. I usually need longer sleeves on shirts (37-38") and I need neck ties that are extra long ---stuff like that... but I always feel like I don't belong. I went into the Repps Big & Tall one day and there was the salesgirl, me and 2 dudes who came together. The SMALLER of the 2 was maybe 6'9", 375. The bigger dude was maybe 7'2", 450. It was ridiculous. I looked like a child next to these guys. Besides, in a Nike, I'm still only a size 13. ;)
I rarely see people that big anywhere (and I played sports)------but if you go into a Big and Tall store, it's like the Headquarters in Men in Black. ;D
Hell - I'd be more of a runt than you! LOL! Yeah, I go there from time to time - I'm short-legged (30" pants length) at around 5'11", but have to wear a rather long shirt because of my relatively long torso & large (ahem...) girth! Even with a tape pulled tight, compressing my extra flab, my chest is 58-60" - my wife hates buying clothes for me, hence, one of the reasons I walk around nude.

Ok. I'm back from trying this Bigfoot call. Can't recommend it. I yelled 'By Yabba!!' out in the yard and no Bigfoot. Just my wife opening the window on the porch to tell me to shut my pie hole. Not the same thing. :-\
Bigfoot and Wildboy was on Saturday mornings and was juat as wild as all the other Syd and Marty Kroft shows. I've got two VHS tapes which I think have most if not all the episodes and I have a set of Syd and Marty Krofft shows also on VHS which has at least one episode and I think it may have been released on DVD, too. The last image actually has two meanings in sasquatch body lanquage - of course, "air guitar" comes to mind. But to the fine, hirsute ladies of the mountain, it has a more carnal connotation ;).
Uh, that's what I heard, anyway - I mean, seriously, how could I really know?
Just a heads up. There is a Shriek of the Mutilated one-sheet ending tonight on emovieposter.com. It's a pretty rare and awesome Bigfoot movie poster. I think $32 for that poster is a steal. If Heritage sold it in one of their catalogs, it would probably hit $150-$200. Stuff on emovieposter tends to sell for top dollar, so I'm surprised the Shriek poster didn't go higher.

More realistic for me would be a trip to the Bigfoot museum in Willow Creek. Just how long of a drive from LA would that be?

Years ago, I lived in Berkeley for a while. Willow Creek is about a 6 hour drive North of there. How Far from LA to the East Bay? I never drove it, but I'd guess its about another 6 hours up I-5.

I used to drive from the Bay Area up to the Willow Creek region frequently in the early 90s to go camping and fishing, and I think Dave's right, it was about 5-6 hours of drive time. I usually went up Interstate 5, as I liked to camp in the Trinity Alps. There was a campground up in Coffee Creek that was run by a guy who had worked for the father of one of my camping partners, and he used to take us out to 'locals only' fishing holes and swimming holes. It's beautiful country.
I spent time in Willow Creek and Bluff Creek. I was never sure exactly where the Patterson -Gimlin sighting took place. I thought I found a dry creek bed that looked a lot like it but who knows? Too bad we didn't have GPS back then. More fun were the little shops selling Bigfoot paraphernalia. I don't have any of my t-shirts any more, but I still have some figures and mugs. I also dug around in my closet and found this Bigfoot poster. It has a map on one side, with sightings assigned a number. On the back, it lists each sighting by date and location. I still think it's pretty sweet.

Cool Karen!!
Gary - I'm watching a couple of those on ebay - if I EVER get my wrestling pics out to you, I was gonna send you one!

I'd like to go to Willow Creek someday and see the Bigfoot tourist traps. I'd also like to visit Fouke, Arkansas and see what's there.
There is an iron silloette of the Fouke creature with a cut out for a face to be put inot in front of the post office--which is right next to the Monster Mart. I live about 15 minutes from there.
Zackuth - that's really cool! That's another trek I want to make someday!

Thanks bro, but while the wife shares my Hollywood/horror fixation, she draws the line at Bigfoot!
Oh, I forgot!

You can't even hide it somewhere? Maybe the back of the garage door? Some place you could just go by yourself to stare in wonder at it?
BTW, yours is really cool, Karen! Definitely going to get one now.
I had it up on a wall for many years and then rolled it up and put it away. I probably had not seen it in over 12 years til I brought it out to photograph. I'd like to hang it up again but I'm pretty much out of wall space!

It's sad, but that awesome poster would be relegated to the garage....I can see taking up space with that when we've got a 1947 tablecloth from the Brown Derby in Hollywood that we can't find space for on the walls. I'd be living in your spare room . ;D
'Course, that don't sound too bad. We get matching recliners, Bigfoot beer cozies, vintage 60s ashtrays for our enormous cigars, and spend the rest of our days analyzing every Squatch-themed tv show, documentary, and movie ever produced while pounding wrassler-sized portions of greasy eats!

Id have to laminate it to keep it in the garage. The humidity down here is like having a hygienically-challenged,sweaty fat man holding you in his deodorant-free hairy armpit for 8 months of the year.

That, and when we gather round the Huge Celebration Potato and get blind drunk.
Hmm . . .
Maybe that is why the tourists are not coming by?

Oh, nuts. UP, we have to find another destination for your nude self-body print art. 2 panels. One frontal. I was SURE it would go over big at Gary's. MY bad. I take full responsibility, Mark. :-\
Maybe Charlotte is reading this and has an entire barren wall... ???

I think the makeup dept just reused a brow piece and contact lense from The Incredible Hulk, then added a bunch of brown makeup and fur.

The question is....Do you believe in Bigfoot or the possibility that Bigfoot exists?
Exactly! The possibility that a yet unclassified animal may actually exist, is more along my line of thinking. I believe in some things, but cryptids, to me, aren't a matter of that kind of faith.
Andre the Giant as Bigfoot on Six Million Dollar Man

Ted Cassidy was Bigfoot on Bionic Woman, not Six million dollar man.
I knew a Bigfoot that would wear an Andre' costume every once in awhile!

Try reading this poster image as Bigfoot coming home after a hard day to find that the painters he hired ( the 3 Stooges) spilled red paint everywhere and destroyed the place.
I customized this one for Christmas. ^-^
The perfect present.
