Anthony Perkins and Janet Leigh cast in Hopkins-starring Hitchcock biopic
Posted by Samuel ZimmermanMar 02, 2012
"ALFRED HITCHCOCK AND THE MAKING OF PSYCHO" has a Norman Bates and Marion Crane.
Variety reports that Scarlett Johansson and W.E.'s James D'arcy (is that not the most perfect British name?) will take on the roles of real-life actors and stars of Hitchcock's landmark PSYCHO, Janet Leigh and Anthony Perkins. The film, starring Anthony Hopkins as the Master of Suspense, and Helen Mirren, as his wife Alma will tell the tale of the director's attempts to get the 1960 movie made.
Sasha Gervasi, of ANVIL! THE STORY OF ANVIL, is directing, with Leigh apparently being considered, or touted, as an awards-worthy role.
Could be interesting.
I glad to hear this is moving along. Back in early 2011

it was announced..and then languished. I had heard some odd rumbling and then nothing, so I'm happy it is back on track.
Although, I hear a second film is also in the works for the BBC.
The BBC movie, I believe, is about the relationship between Hitchcock and Tippi Hedren.
I may have to re-read the book again, but I don't really see the Psycho story as a really compelling film.
I wonder how many census takers Hopkins will have to eat to fatten himself up to play Hitchcock?

Jessica Biel has been cast as Vera Miles (Lila Crane) in this film.
At least it's not another stinking remake.

Stinking is right. I coldn't believe there would be a way for me to feel bored watching "Psycho", but they found a way. :(
