Who doesn't like horror comics?? Failure to like horror comics is grounds for immediate dismissal from the Army.

It's fun, I'm in as well.

OK, so how do we work this?
Throw me in.
The General Terry FMOMPLS trails the thread to a set cut off date of his choosing and then puts all the names in a hat and pulls out exhange partners. He'll post or PM you all who your partner is. Stay tuned....

Fearless General Terry are we haveing the Christmas gift exchange this year Yes or no? If yes we need to get started with pairing up names.
Thanks

I'd have to pass this year -- though previous years have been a lot of fun.
I'm in, if we are going to do it.
How about it General?
63monsterkidd
Can we get a OK from the General
63monsterkidd
Count me in too! :D
I have this question early in order to give everyone time to get their gifts to the post office so that everyone could recieve their gifts in time for Xmas.So for General Terry has not responded?
If this is to happen we need to hear from him ASAP!
We have several other admins here, would it be possible to get one of them to get things rolling for us?
George
People I don't no what to tell you? I have no idea why the General or any of the other admin's haven't answered our request?Tomorrow is the 5th and the USPS is announceing that their no longer guaranteeing next day mail! If there's to be any hope at all for this to get off the ground in time then it has to happen quickly in the next day or two! :(
Sorry everybody about my missing in action. Been focused on other forum matters. The answer is yes, let's get this secret Santa thing in motion. The question is, will there be enough interested parties to make it happen? This thread doesn't reflect many participants.

Thanks Craig for pointing this out. Indeed there is.
Okay, the Secret Santa promotion will end this Saturday night, Dec 10, at 12:00 am EST. Names will be randomly drawn from a hat on Sunday, Dec. 11, and partners will be paired up after which time an announcement will be made revealing the pairings.

If you don't mind my asking? What's the urgency? We'll have our pairings by the 12th and even if we ship to our partners by USPS Parcel post by the 16th the packages will likely arrive by Christmas. And even if they arrive after Christmas, something monsterous to look forward to (I know I'm not returning my items if they arrive after Christmas).
Ok Jeff, you convinced me.Put my name back in the hat General please. C:)

Atta boy, Tom. I know how much you enjoy this event and it would be a shame if you bailed unnecessarily.
I am in but how does it work?
Here's the info all participating members should know and be aware of.
Everyone who is contributing to the Secret Santa pot here will have their name placed into a bowl. There will be another bowl with the exact same names placed in it. When the Xmas Grab Bag promotion comes to an official close (December 10, 2011 12:00 AM EST), I will then pull a name from each bowl. Those two names will correspond with the exchanging of gifts. This will continue until all names have been pulled from both bowls. Not to worry - if we end up with an odd number of name tickets .. I will rectify that by adding additional gifts to the grab bag. Nobody will be left out. BUT you must contribute a gift to receive one! That is the requirement here! Santa partners will then be responsible to contact one another, exchange shipping information, and then send their gifts to one another in a timely fashion.
Disclaimer warning! We here at UMA believe in the good faith of our members. Still, with this have been said, there may be people out there who may resemble Uncle Scrooge as opposed to St. Nick. The UMA cannot be held accountable or liable in anyway shape or form regarding this exchange. We will however respond, and take the necessary action that we the mods deem necessary to any complaints of outright deception and/or fraud. We urge all of you to enter into this promotion at your own risk. And oh yeah .. have fun with it too!
I hope who ever I get likes to read?
And I don't believe we have ever put a designation on a max value or price range of the gifts. I know those who participate vary wildly in their financial situations. I think a good tip would be to send what you think is cool and that your partner would like and be grateful for whatever you end up with - even if there's a healthy $ disparity. Feel free to communicate with each other if you have specific wants or care to discuss anything you wish between you and your partner.
I always figure, a gift's a gift - it's all appreciated!
Merriest,
-Craig

I feel the same way Wich2 You give what you can and appreciate what you get.Its all in the spirit of the Holiday season and no one should feel slighted! C:)
I'm gonna have to drop out. Just dropped over $3700.00 on major plumbing repairs. :o :o YAY! Now I'm broke right before the holidays. >:(
WL - sorry to hear about the repairs! But, what the heck - U.P. is IN!
Oh man WL, that sucks! Sorry to hear that! Nothing worse than a huge unexpected expense.
What time will the pairings be posted? ;D
12:00 AM dose this means the names wont be paired until Sunday the 11TH?
Where are the pairing results?????? Why dose this always have to be put off to the very last minute every year?????? ??? :(
That's it! Take my name out! I'm not taking part this year.I suggested this be done back before Thanksgiving so there would plenty of time but like anything else I suggest here I get ignored! you want to ban me for speaking my mind then go right ahead!

Okay, your name is out Tom, and none too soon. I'm still going to send you a gift called "patience", and as an extra-added bonus, I'll even include some "common sense" for good measure.
Do you really think we're sitting here with a stopwatch counting down the seconds before somebody can send you a gift? You sure know how to personify "bah humbug" to what's supposed to be a fun promotion.
I'm now going to throw the names into a hat and match up the names. Back in 5 minutes. Oh, I forgot, 5 minutes is an eternity to somebody like Tom. Too bad.
Thanks for everyone's patience. Here are this year's Secret Santa pairings. Please be sure to contact your partner and exchange shipping information. Have fun!

Well, when's THAT gonna be!!? We're all WAITING. Why does this always have to happen!? ;) (Just kidding. Take your time. ;D ;D ;D)
It's sad that a thread intended for seasonal sharing has to be spoiled by one individual and his illogical and irrational demands. Toysoldierman had been on thin ice here for a long time. I'm not going to expound on any of this other than to say he has received his dishonorable discharge papers and won't be pardoned a second time.
I want to return this thread back to its rightful and respectful owners. Sorry for the distraction. He's gone now and won't be returning.

Yep, I cheated, and already opened my package sent by Ramsey37 (he insisted ;D). Well, as a time for giving & sharing, he really outdid himself! He sent a little bit of everything, and I mean, everything - including an 8" Imperial Kong, a Hallmark Kong Ornament, magazines, comic books, dinosaurs, photos, dvd & much more - he even sent a card signed by Svengoolie! All in all, it was very thoughtful of him to be so generous - Thanks, George & Merry Christmas! Hope you enjoy the coal I sent you.
MERRY CHRISTMAS, UMA!!
Mark
Got my package from 63monsterkidd today...........but I can't open until Christmas. I've got 3 kids. If I start opening my presents now, I'll be opening a can of worms which will inevitably lead to opening a can of whoop-ass.
Sorry I couldn't take part in this this year -- past years have been a great deal of fun. Just dealing with a few too many other things this go-round. I hope everyone gets lots of cool stuff and has a very SCARY Christmas!
Totally agree, Terry--same here. This year just wasn't in the cards for it, but I love seeing this year's participants post here about their exchanges. Merriest and Happiest to all!

I received my box o' goodies from Mark today, and it was awesome! He included a handmade Unknown Primate card, along with a bunch of toys and a couple of cool DVDs! Thanks, and Merry Christmas!
PS: you forgot the coal ;)
George
The great Opera Ghost sent me a FABULOUS X-Mas Package chock full of goodies! ;D ;D ;D
Rob, a most excellent mixed bag of horror treats!
A little bit classic horror, a little bit modern horror and a little bit whimsical cheesecake horror.
GREAT job, brother! Looking forward to opening that bottle on our Presidents' Day Ski Weekend!
In utter jagovian fashion, I did not get Rob's package out until Dec. 22nd, so he's likely still waiting for cross country UPS Ground transport. :-[ I wasn't a COMPLETE rube in that the delay was due to me insisting on adding a piece that I had to scour the dank bowels of Castle Sean for. But, alas, I finally located the little piece of junk that was holding the whole operation up! ;)
Merry X-Mas, Tezai family!! And a Happy New Year! And God bless!
Scatter sent me A copy of the Making of Night of the Living Dead ,
40years of the Great Pumpkin and a Frankenstein figure. It really made my Cryptmas
very scary and very special.
Thanks Gary.

I'll be sending your out next week Craig so it will be at you house when you get back from your vacation.

OK, i have to get a pic of this..............63monsterkidd (Merril) sent me a freaking 6' tall full body decaying body/ skeleton "mask" (for lack of a better term). I scared the crap out of Nancy and her mom multiple times already (fixing it to a dressing form that Nancy has, extending it to about 6', and leaving it in various dark corners).
I only scared Jonah only once. Because he's 2. And Nancy made me stop.
So I scared him with the Old Hag mask that came with the skeleton. I'm currently sleeping alone.
Also, a cool Agatha Christie book, comics, assorted monster swag that has been mostly scooped up by my accomplice in fright, Jordan.
AWESOME monster goodies, and some memorable Christmas memories!! Thanks Merril!!

I've never seen anything like it. I have a PM in to Merril asking what he knows about it. Descriptively, it's 6' tall, made out of the same thick latex as a regular mask............it's actually a half figure (the front is there in 3D, but the back is hollow). The skull head would cover your face back to your ears. The eyes/mouth are uncut. The rest of the body isn't as deep. Looks like a rotting corpse. I'm thinking of trying to rig up some sort of iron maiden looking thing and just keep it in there. Reminds me of a full size "Forgotten Prisoner" model done in latex, but in a lesser state of decay (flesh, muscle, sinew, gore still attached).

That is AWESOME Scatter!!
Ain't it though?? :D
I love the way the chest cavity is 3 dimensional like the head, and you can look UNDER the ribs and see the organs up there! Now we just have to get Merril to tell us something about it!
It's definitely got a "Forgotten Prisoner" vibe going, am I right? Chuck some pirate togs on him and chain him to the wall!!
Whatcha gonna name him, Gary?
TOTALLY SICK, Gary...[and i mean that in the best way possible!] Can see why Nancy isn't nuts about it. Yet she voluntarily took a pic of it for you...Now THAT'S true love!

The Opera House recieved delivery of my SS gift from good buddy Sean on Thursday, and quite the bundle it was! In keeping with the mystery theme of the gifts as done by Sean, I was delighted by a nice ecclectic array assembled by he, ranging from classic horror nostalgia, whimsy, contemporary homage to the classic greats, and something extra-special and significant to yours truly, that Sean picked up on and remembered as was evidence with this particular gift.
Thank Sean, for all of this from OG and LM, as well as for all that you delight us with here at the UMA
...and a Very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
