Been a long time since I've seen it, but it seemed a logical choice.

But you were right on the money :)
I'm so glad those filthy rodents didn't damage those dinos! They are fantastic! :)
Man, I love those Dinos.. I had the cool set as a kid, but I literally played them to death. I have one piece, a badly damaged brown mammoth.
I got the set for Christmas 1960. Still have most of the pieces but some are damaged. My set had no cavemen or prehistoric mammals only dinosaurs. Still have rock formations & most of the trees. Box & booklet long gone.
I had the set with the big cave structure with the river separating the two piece cave, rock dwellings and all the dinosaurs and cavemen. Also had a big plastic mat that looked like the ground with rocks and stuff, and the river continued on it. And it came with plastic trees too.
Here is my other set that found the MPC Dinosaurs.I guessing that the MPC were either knockoffs or something of that nature not realy sure. But have a whole set of these too. :)

I Love those dinos! I had both the Marx and MPC versions as a kid, wish I still had them! I did get a bag of similar knock offs a few years ago at Wallywprld, but they aren't nearly as nice as the originals.
Wolfman66- Those are beautiful dinos! The colors are so pleasing to the eye :) I've never seen those purple....is that the color I'm seeing?....before! Very nice set!
Ya some are purple, navy blue all sorts of colors.Ill try and take another pic of some more and have red cavemen also from MPC.
Very nice find.Especially something from your childhood.
Thanks and here is some more MPC Dinos as you can see they liked to use a variety of colors.

Great monster collection. :)
There is another maker of 60's Dino's that have caareezee prices. I'm thinking smith or Miller I've seen some pieces going for $40 and up. Anyone know what I'm talkin about?

I think know the ones your talking about they were bigger and hollow insides. But not sure who made thos dinos.
This is one of my favorite other sites...especially made for toy dino lovers.http://www.dinosaur-toys-collectors-guide.com/index.html (http://www.dinosaur-toys-collectors-guide.com/index.html)
packy- I'm gonna check that site out. My kids were 1980s kids, but they both collected dinosaurs- especially The Land Before Time stuff. They would probably like this site too.
I believe my dino set to have been MPC, as I got it at a Kmart in the late 70's. Plus the Allosaurus was definitely MPC.
I recently sold a full MPC prehistoric playset.......seemed like most every dino reminded me of a similar Marx dino. Did maybe MPC get ahold of the Marx molds in the 70's? Buddy
